With a big game day ahead of you, how to style a sports jersey might be the last thing on your mind. But finding the perfect outfit to cheer on your favorite team, whether in the bleachers or at home, just adds to the excitement of the moment. There’s no better way to rep your favorite athlete than wearing their numbers or support your team by donning their colors.

To learn the ins and outs of game day dressing, we went to a pro: WAG and fashion designer Kristin Juszczyk has dressed famous stars like Taylor Swift and Simone Biles, and is also regularly seen stylishly supporting her husband, San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, from the stands. “First, accessorize always. That's my biggest tip. Doesn't matter what you're wearing; you throw on earrings, necklaces, it always makes you feel more elevated,” Juszczyk says. “And then you gotta elevate it with some shoes.”

Juszczyk showed us a select rolling rack of her puffer vests and jackets, pointing out their high-quality details: corduroy lining, four inner and outer deep zipped pockets, and silicone and embroidered patches and appliqués for unique texture. "I know it's hot [here in New Orleans]," Juszczyk said as she selected a puffer to style us in. “So we're gonna have to stick with a vest. Let's get you in the Kelce!” And just like that, we had an elevated look for fickle temperatures.

When it comes to DIY merch and hacks, the possibilities are endless. So, Juszczyk says: “I would suggest going and looking at [any and] all videos. There's so much you can do. Even if you don't have a sewing machine, grab scissors. There's so much you can do with cutting it up, splicing and dicing. So go on YouTube, look at some videos. You never know what you can find. And there are some easy things that don't involve a sewing machine.”

If you'd like to change the silhouette of your sports merch, Juszczyk has a clever hack she always relies on. “I personally love to tuck in my jerseys, whether that's tucking it into my pants, tucking it into my bra. That's one of my favorite tips,” the designer shared. But if that's not for you, don't worry. “You can add a belt to it. You could also sew on some clasps on the sides, and then bring a string and pull it and cinch it into the waist.”

“Everyone's style is different, fashion is of course very subjective. You can want to go out in a very loud piece," Juszczyk says, "[But] if you wanted something subtle, I would say you can either put a little appliqué of maybe the team name or the [player] number, or even you can do it with jewelry, rep with something tiny and small, but it's really whatever your style is.”
