After much speculation, it's finally confirmed: Chappell Roan is officially dating and giving us a rare glimpse into her relationship.

Appearing on a new episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, Chappell Roan revealed she has been in a committed relationship with someone for six months. Roan shared that the relationship is “serious” and she's “very in love.”

Roan, who came out as lesbian last year during an Ohio show, shared that she met her current girlfriend through a mutual friend but revealed “it wasn't a setup” and that she was the one to make the first move. "I'm usually the one who makes [the first move]," she said, “like in every circumstance, I make the first move.”

While being interviewed by Rolling Stone last July, Roan previously opened up about her rising fame affecting her dating life, admitting she was getting to know a person “completely outside the industry” but had some reservations.

“I met this girl that I really like, but [I] can’t commit because I feel like no one understands me," Roan shared at the time. “I don’t want to date another artist because they’re f*cking nuts. I’m so avoidant because I’m just like, ‘She’ll never get me. She’ll never get it.'”

Back then, Roan shared that the person she was getting to know was very understanding of her current lifestyle. “She’s so awesome and so secure in herself and [has told me] ‘No pressure, we can just be friends if you want,’ ” Roan recounted. “I’m just running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I’m just like, ‘What? I can’t get married!’ It is that type of delusion right now.”

Though it's a little over six months later, and we could be wrong, it looks like the person Roan is referring to in both interviews is the same individual. Speaking to Cooper, the star admitted: “I haven't dated someone since this all really blew up. I'm dating the same person that I was dating before.”

She added: "I'm not sure how I would date now. I think it would actually be a nightmare. I think I would be so single right now because you're terrified of their intentions. I'm scared. I don't trust anyone. I just think in my head, I'm like, any new person that I'm texting, I'm like, 'I'm assuming they will screenshot this and send it to someone else.'”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Roan also admitted she feels “more comfortable” explicitly saying she's queer and dating women now, but shared that there's “something f*cked up my sexuality.”

“I think my nervous system is so fried that I can't even feel flirtatious. It's just too intense to even be sexual at all. I'm just too sensitive, you know?” she continued. “I want to be [flirtatious] because I think that was a part of myself that was fun, and I feel like that part of me exists on stage, but off stage, it's kind of like I reverted to a very shameful part of myself and how I relate to sex.”

The singer traced this new-found insecurity, again, to learning to adapt to new levels of privacy and drawing boundaries. “When there's so much of you in the world that is exposed, being sexual with someone is so vulnerable,” she said. “The rest of your life is so vulnerable that it's like, I want to save something. I just don't wanna be that vulnerable with so many people.”
