This Is What Happens When Fashion Editors Take a Food Tour of NYC
Here at Teen Vogue, we like to consider ourselves at least amateur foodies—hey, with so many good eats in NYC, how could we not be? So, when we started to notice that donut-themed sweatshirts, watermelon clutches, and pineapple-adorned accessories were making their way into mainstream fashion, we couldn't wait to combine our two true loves.
Armed with some of our favorite food-inspired finds, we hit the streets for Teen Vogue's version of the ultimate New York City food tour, visiting 10 iconic spots and snapping countless photos along the way. Click through to see how it all went down, and don't forget to tell us about your fave almost-edible accessories in the comments…or better yet, post pics of your own fashion food tour!

Pineapple Express
Next, we picked up some fresh produce from the local fruit stand. Everything was going fine until we misplaced our brand-new pineapple bag. Anyone see it?

Pop(corn) Art
To balance out our morning of sweetness, we popped by the movie theatre for buttery popcorn and a matinee. Didn’t we bring the most perfect accessories?

I Dream of Donuts
An early wake-up call wouldn’t be complete without some donuts and coffee, so our first tour stop was everyone’s favorite morning confectioner, Doughnut Plant in Chelsea. We couldn’t help capturing that ultra-cool bench while we indulged in a coconut lime donut—with the sweatshirt and necklace, we were basically camouflaged in.

We'll Take Fries with That
Lunchtime! There’s no better place to grab a midday burger and fries than cult-followed Shake Shack, and there’s no better way to spend a lunch break than jamming out with some stylish ear buds. Sounds like a match made in heaven to us.

Juicy Fruit
The juice craze has hit NYC hard, and a swig of the city’s ubiquitous Jamba Juice was just the thing to wash down that burger. Bonus: This carrot-orange fusion smoothie was the perfect match for our tropical watches and super-cool Call It Spring fanny-pack.

Bento Socks
New Yorkers eat everything on the go…including sushi. So, we stopped by Wasabi for a little bento box action and set up shop right in Times Square, where the neon lights and swarms of people almost made us feel like we were in Tokyo. Naturally, we kicked up our feet and took it all in.

Pizza Party
Whenever we have a hankering for quick-but-delish slice, we hit up 2 Bros Pizza. We like ours with a little personality (and style) thrown in, so this Venessa Arizaga "Pizza Party" bracelet was the ultimate topping.

Pretzels Here!
You can’t come to New York without visiting a pretzel stand—it’s like a rule. And you can’t eat a New York pretzel without mustard (also a rule). Good thing we had our trusty necklaces to remind us how it’s done.

Candy Crush
If we had to end our travels for the day, it obviously needed to be with a sugar rush, so we hit up ultimate sweet stop Dylan’s Candy Bar. Someone (who shall not be named) even mistook this Swatch watch for a candy necklace. Trust us, you only need to make that mistake once (ouch!).

Cherry on Top
OK, so we made one more stop…the second floor of Dylan’s Candy. If you’ve ever wondered what it would look like if Willy Wonka and a classic ’50s diner had a love child, it’d be the spitting image of this magical spot. We treated ourselves to an out-of-this-world ice-cream sundae and added our own cherry on top—an adorable Susan Alexandra earring and bracelet.
