Lykke Li, Unplugged. Watch a clip of the show here!

During the afternoon of March 4th, I took a little field trip away from the office. Hidden inside a very standard looking office building on Manhattan's upper east side, was a studio where MTV was taping a very special Unplugged performance: Swedish singer Lykke Li. I watched the singer and her band work through a set of songs from new album, Wounded Rhymes, as well as some old favorites from her 2008 debut, Youth Novels. The last time I saw Lykke perform, it was to a packed crowd at 2009's Lollapalooza so getting to see her sing in an intimate space was really cool.

Watch Some Of The National's Sold-Out 2/8 Studio at Webster Hall Performance for MTV

Two weeks ago, I smushed myself into the jam-packed Studio at Webster Hall -- a subterranean 300-person-capacity room -- to catch a special MTV taping of Brooklyn's The National. The five-man band, joined on the small stage by a handful of additional musicians, ripped through a set heavy with tracks from their excellent 2010 album, High Violet, as well as some fan favorites like "Abel" and "Squalor Victoria." This week, the band is MTV's PUSH artist of the week (which means you'll see clips of the 2-8 performance during the end-cap credits of shows like Jersey Shore.) But you can also watch certain songs directly on MTV.com.
