North West is only 11 years old, but she's already a fashion icon. After all, she was on the cover of Vogue when she was still in diapers, so it wouldn't have been a huge surprise to see her walk the Met Gala 2025 steps alongside her mom, Kim Kardashian, or maybe one of her aunts, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
But did North West make it to this year's Met Gala? Here's what we know about North and the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute Benefit.
Did North West go to Met Gala 2025?
Sadly no, North West didn't go to this year's fashion fundraiser. But she did accompany Kim Kardashian to the Mark Hotel for Met prep, and she was seen exiting the hotel to head to the Met steps. Rocking electric blue braids and a cow-print matching set, North looked unfazed by the paparazzi clamoring for photos of her mom's outfit — even when Kim's bodyguard accidentally stepped on Kim's gown train at the hotel.
But though there was no official Gala appearance for North, we did get some fun TikToks of mother and daughter getting ready for the storied event. One uses Diamond Dondada's iconic “She's Back” freestyle as North and Kim lip-sync along: “I took over a year off and cut u b*tches some slack. Tell a friend to tell a friend, she's back.” In another, North sings Connie Francis's 1962 hit "Pretty Little Baby" before panning to Kim Kardashian's black leather Met Gala look.
Safe to say North was flexing her TikTok prowess during Met Gala night.

Why didn't North go to the Met Gala?
Though it doesn't appear to be a widely publicized rule, it looks like the Met Gala does have an age restriction, and guests under 18 years old are not allowed to attend. Since West is still well under that age limit, we didn't see her walk the carpet. (But then again, it wouldn't have been a surprise if she was able to bend the rule, since her mom is a bona-fide Met Gala superstar.)
What has North West said about the Met Gala in the past?
In 2023, West accompanied Kardashian on the way to the Karl Lagerfeld-themed gala, wearing a mini Chanel jacket and jeans, but did not join her for the red carpet and event. She did, however, have some thoughts about the fashion. On an episode of The Kardashians that covered the Gala, West played the role of a “mini Joan Rivers” and let her fashion opinions fly, including some about her mom's Schiaparelli gown.
During a fitting, West said of the dress, "I like the pearls; I just don’t like that it looks like they’re from the dollar store.” Schiaparelli designer Daniel Roseberry laughed, saying, “This is my worst nightmare come to life. It’s like I’m being punked the night before the Met, getting read for filth by a nine-year-old.”
West also had words for her mom's ex-boyfriend, Pete Davidson, saying of his look, “You’re going to the Met Gala, Pete, not the gas station.” She called Jared Leto's cat costume ”cringe," but praised her aunt Kendall's Marc Jacobs look, saying she liked it more than her mom's. Though she can't yet attend the actual Gala, we can't wait to see her critical thoughts on best and worst dressed in the next season of The Kardashians — and what she thought of her mom's Met Gala look.
