Ted Cruz took the stage on November 5 to address his supporters after winning reelection in Texas and six more years in the Senate. In his victory speech, Cruz accused Democrats of trying to "buy this Senate seat,” celebrated his increased Latino support, and shared his plans to crack down on immigrants illegally crossing the southern border.
"I believe... and I hope and pray that Donald Trump will be reelected as president of the United States," Cruz said in his speech, surrounded by supporters and family. But in a TikTok post that has garnered nearly one million views, an eagle-eyed user captured a split-second moment as Cruz mentioned Trump: His daughter Caroline visibly grimaced and mouthed what users said appeared to be, “Don’t clap for that.”

Users poured in with support, commenting, “the ‘Don’t clap for that’ is so valid” and “WE LOVE THIS DIVA” with likes supporting each comment in the thousands.
It’s not the first time Caroline has drawn attention for being at odds with her father’s political point of view. In 2022, she shared a now-deleted TikTok post explaining the differences she has with her Republican senator father. "A lot of people judge me based upon him at first glance," she said. "But I really disagree with most of his views."
Caroline's account went private shortly after the video began getting increased attention as users shared screenshots of her profile that listed her pronouns as she/her and described her as “bi” and had been shared by media outlets at the time.
