It's the end of an era for JoJo Siwa and her trademark ponytail. On April 6, JoJo posted a video teasing that she has made the big chop and said goodbye to the perky, often bow-bedecked ponytail that became her signature after her first appearance on Dance Moms.
In a short video set to Demi Lovato's "Cool for the Summer," Jojo showed the moment she said goodbye to her long hair. "Mayyyyy have done something todayyyy," JoJo captioned her video.

Just a day later, on April 7, JoJo shared a pic of the final look. At first, it looked like she had gotten a cute, summer-ready bob that brushed her collarbone. but she has gone for a full side-swept pixie cut.

It isn't a complete surprise that the star is changing things up. In October, while Jojo was starring on Dancing with the Stars, she told Kelly Clarkson that another of her hair trademarks, her bows, were on a break.
"She's just on vacation," JoJo explained. "A long vacation. I love my bow and I always will. It's a piece of my life." According to JoJo, she was having too much fun experimenting with new hairstyles and looks. "I've had a lot of fun exploring with my hair... Every day I do something fun with it."
JoJo had previously shared her feelings about the bow breakup, which took place shortly after she turned 18. “I've worn a bow, obviously, for the last 18 years of my life,” she said at the time. “I just had my 18th birthday, and it was right around my birthday that I realized, 'You know, I kinda want to do my hair different today.”
JoJo got to try out lots of new looks on DWTS, and a quick scroll through her Instagram reveals that she's been doing the same on her tour. Sure, the ponytail is present, but JoJo also rocks long waves, space buns, and low ponytails too. We're so excited about this new era for JoJo and can't wait to see the final result.
