Looks like it's almost time to take the Spidey suit out of storage. Actor Tom Holland recently revealed that he's read an initial draft for Spider-Man 4 — and that it also got MJ's, er, sorry, Zendaya's seal of approval.

Holland revealed some long-awaited info about the fourth installment in a lengthy, nearly two-hour interview on The Rich Roll Podcast on Thursday, saying that while the movie's script is still in its very early stages, it got him hyped to reunite with Peter Parker. Holland's iteration of the Marvel fan-favorite hero hasn't been seen onscreen since 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which he costarred with his girlfriend Zendaya and Jacob Batalon.

“It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job," Holland said of the script. “I read it 3 weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room, like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of the fans’s respect.’ But there’s a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going, but it’s exciting.”

Holland notes that getting it “really going” will take some time, so don't expect to be seated in theaters for Spider-Man 4 next year — other stories in the MCU are coming first. “One of the things is that, with Marvel, your film is a small cog in a large machine,” he explained. “That machine has got to keep running. You have to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture. That’s one of the challenges we’re facing. The time in which we need to get that done is a tall order, but definitely achievable with the people we have working on it now.”

At the time of writing, no concrete or confirmed information about Spider-Man 4 has been publicly shared yet regarding crew, filming, or potential release dates. But, it certainly sounds like Peter Parker and MJ will be back on our screens at some point in the near future, and we're already super excited about it.

While speaking on Rich Roll, Holland also touched on what it's like being part of the enormous Marvel Cinematic Universe and how he balances working on such major blockbusters. “What sets it apart from anything else is the community and the sense of ownership over the characters from the fans to the studio,” he explained. “I really love being a part of that. When you're on set of a Marvel movie, they're big, there's green screens, crews of a few hundred people, but that community is so strong that it doesn't feel like a $200 million movie.”
