The Emily in Paris season 5 outfits had a lot to compete with if they wanted to stand out against a plot so intense that it took us back and forth from France to Italy, through multiple breakups, and some major challenges for our protagonist. And yet, despite all the mess, the looks were just as dramatic as Emily and her coworkers and friends.

From mixed bold prints to reimagined trendy silhouettes, Emily Cooper rarely wears a simple look. In that vein, this season we discovered that even her athleisure outfits need some flair, given her penchant for bright colors and clever details.

Styled by Marilyn Fitoussi, these Emily in Paris season 5 outfits made a serious impression. Below we rounded up some of the best looks from the new release and gathered all the details we could, just in case you're planning a trip to France or Italy, or bringing some European charm to your own home.

Scroll on to see the looks, but beware, minor spoilers for Emily in Paris season 5 are ahead.

Though she didn’t get a warning from Marcello, Emily somehow already had a great look to go from establishing the new Rome office to meeting her client/boyfriend’s mom all in the same day. Paired with patterned shorts and a ruffly top, the pièce de résistance was still the green striped blazer. In a press release, Fitoussi called this one of her favorite looks, noting that it was by a brand helmed by a young designer, Sébline.

When Emily isn't dopamine dressing, she tends to opt for a chic, sleek look. This look combines both worlds. An LBD with an Emily twist must have a print, of course, and these florals are the perfect dose of color, especially with this unique silhouette.

It seems like Emily has her Rome style down to a formula: A suit that screams business with bold prints to show off her new laid-back attitude. This look is the perfect lesson in mixing prints with a striped shirt layered under a floral suit from Alice + Olivia.

Though this is one of the more subdued prints Emily opted for this season, it’s one of her more memorable sets thanks to the detailing. The belted high-rise shorts have a retro feel, while the oversized top over the bralette is cool and casual.

A Diane von Furstenberg print-and-wrap silhouette is so on-brand for Emily. With the quintessentially Italian Vespa, it’s just so picturesque for her Rome adventures.

The Christy in Wild Cherry

Leave it to Emily to make even pajamas colorful and chic with a slip dress in a fun cherry print. Emily's looks like this one from the celeb-approved French brand Réalisation Par, which feels like something she would naturally pick up while in Paris. Plus, mixing with floral flats and throwing on a crisp button-down top? Genius.

Emily really loves a matching set in Rome, and we love that she loves them. This Huishan Zhang coat and dress is perfect for a night out, especially with these bright colors that turn evening wear on its head in true Fitoussi fashion.

Emily embracing the skirt-over-pants trend makes so much sense, especially with her own special twist. What truly takes this to the next level is that it is just a skirt, but Fitoussi draped it for a high-low effect. Will this look from the 2010s make a comeback with Emily’s stamp of approval?

Wearing Victoria Beckham, Emily’s return to Paris is marked by a more subtle floral print in more mature hues. In the press release, Fitoussi said, “Lily and I had a long discussion about the return to Paris, about whether we should transition back to a certain monochromatic style or whether we should stay with the very colorful Italian vibe. This transition between Italy and France was intentional, though. The cuts are different, as is the inspiration, not to mention the colors. The lines are more fluid, some might even say more romantic, but there is a kind of natural otherness in Italy. The Parisian silhouette is much more structured, more defined, and sharper. And the color palette sometimes aligns with that, but at other times continues to ensure that Emily remains Emily.”

When in France, Marine Serre is a must. Though it's still playful and fun in true Emily fashion, the more subdued print and tone again reflect her mood post-Italy as she deals with the aftermath of all the chaos that ensued.

It’s not often that we see Emily in comfy casual looks like this, and leave it to her to incorporate fun, bold colors in those at-home clothes. This Le Hoodie Slogan from Drôle De Monsieur that reads “Not From Paris Madame” is right on the nose, too.

Emily’s casual tracksuit jacket for chilling at home is, understandably, a combination of two bright, bold colors. Though this is a little pricier than what we'd imagine for lounging at home, it's on sale for $696 now.

Now that a little bit of Italy has come back to Emily, her outfits look more similar to what they were like in this season’s earlier episodes, but with a Parisian twist. This Paul Smith top is so much fun, especially paired with the bow skirt.

Silk Jacket - HOWDY - Red

Emily manages to put her own twist on everything, even prints. These heart-shaped paisleys are fitting for all this romance, which played a role in the styling. “She’s essentially Marcello’s muse for his fashion show,” Fitoussi said in the press release. “Since she is the muse, we took inspiration from the colors and shapes. In that respect, we created a wardrobe specifically for Venice and anything that might happen there.”

Black Recycled Moire Bubble Minidress

Even if Emily’s doing monochrome, you know it won’t ever be that simple. This was a masterclass in creative layering, especially for warm weather. While the red bubble dress seems unavailable online at the moment, the black double dress makes a perfect LBD, and the red mesh top and tights can add a pop of color.
