So, uh, when are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce getting married… and more importantly, where are they getting married? If you've read rumors that the couple could be walking down the aisle at Madison Square Garden in just a few weeks, well, there may be some truth to that. (Although it'd wouldn't be really “walking down the aisle,” would it? It'd be more like “walking across the enormous stage of one of America's most iconic music venues.”)
There's been a lot of chatter about the “royal wedding” between the pop superstar and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who started dating in 2023 and got engaged almost two years later—a few Super Bowls and mega-packed stadium tours later, to be clear. Would they tie the knot at her Rhode Island mansion, Holiday House, or go super low-key and quiet? Would the wedding be during Swift's noted favorite holiday, the Fourth of July? Which celebrity pals would show up or potentially even perform at said wedding? What would she wear, and would she write a song specifically for the occasion? Taylor, can we ask you some questions?
The thing about Swift, though, is that she's a self-proclaimed mastermind who is always at least a few steps ahead of the Swifties, which means that her wedding date and venue could be anytime, anywhere across the globe. She could get married tomorrow for all we know, but until those highly anticipated pro pictures drop, here's all the info fit to print about the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding.

Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce seriously getting married at Madison Square Garden?
Umm, maybe? After a whole lotta rumors that the two were marrying at the enormous NYC venue, which does have some perks for such a high-profile event, the New York Times did some investigating and found that “a permit has been filed for an event at Madison Square Garden over the July 4 weekend.” That certainly sounds like it could be a Swift-Kelce wedding, given Swift's longtime love of the holiday and all the speculation that that's where they're saying their vows.
According to the Times's intrepid reporting, the permit was filed to close the streets near MSG from July 2 to mid-day on July 4 for an event taking place on July 3, “according to three people who have knowledge of the matter.” The reporters also found that a few Chiefs players have hotels booked in the city during that time, and “a city official who was briefed on the preparations, said it more bluntly: Madison Square Garden is planning to host the wedding festivities on July 3." In addition to all that, they also note that event planning company Winick Productions “filed an application with the city’s Street Activity Permit Office in early June.” (The company declined to comment.) And finally, the Times also reported that “Amtrak police officers, who patrol the station beneath the arena, have been told to expect a Swift wedding the weekend of July 4.”
Well, OK. It's not a confirmed “yes,” but that definitely doesn't sound like a “no,” either. (It could also be a very elaborate fakeout designed to throw interested parties off their trail!) Swift would be right at home at MSG—she's performed there many times—and the venue does offer a great deal of privacy for high-profile guests attending the wedding. (Maybe her recent appearance at a Knicks game was also to scope out the space, alongside cheering for one of her fave teams…) You can drive right in without being seen, and the space is huge, which means it has a ton of potential for design, structure, hangout spaces, you name it.
What else do we know about their potential wedding?
You can't have a wedding without a pre-celebration bachelor and bachelorette party, and it appears that both Swift and Kelce have already enjoyed theirs. Swift's longtime BFF Abigail Anderson—she of “Fifteen” fame—was seen at Holiday House in Rhode Island alongside a handful of other women, leading fans to believe that's where she celebrated her bachelorette. For his part, Kelce and friends, including his brother Jason and Swift's brother Austin, were spotted in San Diego and Los Angeles, which could have been a bachelor weekend. But again, who knows!
There's also been a lot of speculation about who made the guest list; Swift joked that she wanted to invite everyone she's ever met, which wouldn't be possible even in a venue of MSG's size, but the two have tons of friends. (New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani was not invited but did send his well wishes to the couple after mentioning their wedding at a press conference: "We are the biggest city in the country," Mamdani said. "We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with the Knicks' Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding — all happening at the same time —and we are so excited to welcome the world here.")
On June 23, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, who was at Kelce's Tight End University event, said that he's invited and that Swift and Kelce have a strict no-gifts policy—but he wants to get them something anyway.
When did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce start dating?
The two got together in summer 2023, not long after Kelce shouted out Swift on his podcast New Heights and challenged her to come to one of his games after he tried (and failed) to give her a friendship bracelet at the Eras Tour.
“I've told you this, as much as you want to give New Heights credit, I give The Eras Tour credit," Kelce shared during Swift's guest appearance on New Heights earlier this month. "I give the Eras Tour credit because if I would have never gone to that show and been mesmerized and just been captivated [by you] and then left with such a desire to want to meet you, I would have never [gone] on here and told everybody how butthurt I was [about you not getting my friendship bracelet]. I had never just been so engulfed in the curiosity of who you were.”
Where is Taylor Swift's engagement ring from?
According to Vogue, Kelce worked with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry on Swift's bezel-set round brilliant-cut old mine diamond.
The gold setting featured delicate filigree work for a romantic, vintage vibe befitting of Swift's personal style. (Some fans are already comparing her ring's shape to a football championship ring, which is honestly a full-circle moment for this couple's winning love story.)
When are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce getting married?
Though the couple hasn't shared any details about a future wedding so far, reports are circulating that they've already chosen a date, and sources who spoke to US Weekly say it will be in the summer.
Sources close to the couple revealed the preparations are “coming along" and “they are both [very] involved." They added: "Taylor thinks it’s cute that Travis wants to help.” The source also added that “they don’t want a long engagement” since both of them “very much want to start a family in the next year or so. Family means everything to them.” The duo is reportedly looking at Rhode Island as the wedding location, where Swift owns a summer house.
There's speculation that the date could be June 13, 2026, per the New York Post. Speculation seems to stem from the fact that Fiona Shea of The Daily Dirty shared the story of a woman who was planning to get married on said date at a historic mansion nicknamed The Breakers in Newport, Rhode Island, whom Shea noted was “allegedly Taylor Swift.”
However, a spokesperson for the Preservation Society of Newport County, which manages The Breakers, denied the rumor to the New York Post. “Taylor Swift is not getting married at The Breakers, or any other property the society runs,” a statement it acquired reads.
What we know for sure is that Swift has no plans for touring, so her schedule is relatively open and, according to another source who spoke to People, she's entirely focused on wedding planning now.
"She's been super focused on work commitments. She's not kidding when she says she's exhausted. She's ready for a break so she can focus on the wedding," the source said. “She's very excited about planning the wedding.”
Have Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce talked publicly about marriage?
Swift has written tons of songs about love and relationships, but has been fairly quiet about her feelings on marriage and weddings. However, in a recent interview with GQ, Kelce reflected on what he learned from his parents' marriage and then reflected on his relationship with Swift.
“Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people,” he shared. “When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love. It can be perceived as something else because of how much it is talked about… It happened very organically, even though from a media standpoint, it was being tracked. When I say it was so organic, we fell in love just based off the people we were sitting in a room together with. We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are. We share all those values. It kind of just took the f*ck off.”
In October 2025, Swift opened up about the wedding planning, saying: “You would think that I had been that type of person who would have obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life, but I actually never thought about what I would ever do or what I would want — until I met the person."
Who will be in Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding party?
Again, given that the two just got engaged, we're still waiting to hear more and gather clues about the couple's wedding. But, if they do have a bridal party, we'd assume Kelce's big brother Jason would be included, as well as his inner circle of longtime friends.
As for Swift, she has a whole squad of potential bridesmaids-in-waiting, including Selena Gomez, who was also planning a wedding at the same time! — and her longtime BFF Abigail Anderson; Swift was a bridesmaid in Anderson's wedding in 2017. Other bridesmaid options could include Gigi Hadid, the Haim sisters, Emma Stone, Blake Lively, Keleigh Teller, Phoebe Bridgers, her future sister-in-law Kylie Kelce… the list goes on! But again, this is all just fun speculation for now.
What will Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding ceremony be like?
Despite people manifesting an American royal wedding, it looks like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding won't be as much of a public spectacle. On September 9, 2025, People published a report on the upcoming nuptials, where a source confirmed that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding "will definitely be a private affair and not a spectacle.” The source added: “They both have a close circle of friends, and they’ll respect their privacy.”
This post will continue to be updated as more details about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding are shared with the public.
