Taylor Swift might be known for her signature bright, cherry red lipstick, but it turns out that there's another non-red shade with a big place in her heart.
If you noticed that Swift skipped the scarlet lips in favor of a rusty light orange color at the VMAs, there's a reason for that. Her longtime makeup artist, Lorrie Turk, finally answered fan inquiries as to what shade Swift has been wearing lately.
The lipstick also made a cameo at a recent Kansas City Chiefs game, and Turk's posts from the VMAs were packed with questions about what lipstick Swift picked for the awards show. According to Turk, Swift has been all about NARS Matte Lipstick in Morocco and has been wearing it for years… when she's not wearing red lipstick, anyway.
But before you fill up your cart with this fall-ready shade, you might have to wait awhile. The color, which is described as a “matte warm cinnamon,” often goes in and out of stock on NARS's website, where it's exclusively sold. However, if you don't manage to snag it on your first try, NARS also makes the shade in their Air Matte Liquid Lipstick formula, though that one is currently sold out, probably because of the Swift endorsement.
We know Swift loves NARS; she was a noted fan of their Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl, a vibrant retro cherry. (She was also a fan of MAC's iconic Ruby Woo.) Lately, she's been known to wear Pat McGrath's LiquiLUST Legendary Wear Matte Lipstick in Elson 4 onstage at the Eras tour and while out and about at Chiefs games and on dinner dates.
If you want to channel Taylor Swift this season, it might be worth a trip to your local Sephora, Ulta, or department store to grab her fave NARS shade. Happy hunting!
