Sophie Turner is getting candid about her dating life and history in a new interview with the British branch of Harper's Bazaar.
Looking back on 2024, the Game of Thrones actor was asked about her high-profile divorce from Joe Jonas, which was made public in September 2023. Despite having gone their separate ways, Turner remembers her relationship with the Jonas Brothers singer fondly, admitting to the publication that they "had a beautiful relationship" so going through the split was "hard."
"I'm going through a legal process right now where I can't really say much, but it was incredibly sad," Turner added. (Earlier this year, Turner called her early divorce days "the worst" of her life.)
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas tied the knot in May 2019 in Las Vegas after three years of dating. The former couple held a second ceremony in France the following month. Since then, the duo have welcomed two daughters together: Willa in 2020 and Delphine in 2022.
During her marriage to Jonas, Turner relocated from the U.K. to the U.S., settling in L.A. first before moving to Miami. Shortly after filing for divorce from Jonas, Turner returned to her native country and now resides in West London.
"I'm so happy to be back. It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England," she told Harper's Bazaar. “I just never really feel like myself when I'm not in London, with my friends and family. I was away for so long – six years – and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant. I went for dinner with someone the other day, and she said, 'I never got to touch your belly.' We didn't have those key experiences with each other.”
Even before the divorce, Turner admitted to feeling an urge to move back to the U.K. "The gun violence, Roe v Wade being overturned... Everything just kind of piled on. After the Uvalde [school] shooting, I knew it was time to get the f*ck out of there," she continued.
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's divorce was finalized in September 2024. The duo have been co-parenting their children since 2023 and are reportedly back on great terms. "They turned things around from the initial messy custody battle," an insider revealed recently. “They are friendly and great co-parents now… The divorce was difficult for all of them.”
Since the divorce, Turner has been dating aristocrat Peregrine Pearson. The duo were first spotted kissing in October 2023. Turner soft-launched Pearson on her Instagram in January 2024 before making her first public appearance with him a month later, attending Stanley Zhu's Year of Dragon Celebration at Dixie Queen in London.
Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, Turner opened up about her relationship with Pearson for the first time, admitting that they are "very happy" while blushing. Turner shared that the relationship "came around very quickly," and she didn't originally intend to get this serious. (After all, she did say 2023 was the "year of the girlies.")
"I just needed to go on a date to know how to do it again," Turner said. "That was the first date and the last date, and it's been great."
Turner also shared some details about Pearson's personality, saying: "He's lovely. He's funny, and he brings out the cheeky side of me, the fun side. He lights me back up."
Since the initial soft launch, Turner has hard launched her relationship on Instagram, posting a birthday tribute for Pearson's 30th birthday. "Happy Birthday my angel pie 🥧 🎉 30, flirty and thriving 🎈," she captioned the post, which you can see below, featuring a handful of images of the pair being lovey-dovey.
