What's more iconic than climbing the famed Met Gala steps? How about climbing them with your sister? Gigi and Bella Hadid have done just that as two of the biggest supermodels of a generation. Since they started attending the event over a decade ago, in 2015, the two have also attended the fundraising benefit together a few times, though Gigi has been holding down the fort on her own lately.
They may be siblings, but Gigi and Bella have a different individual aesthetic, so we're always eager to see what each will wear, especially to the Met Gala. They've had some memorable looks in years past, including Bella's lace-and-latex look in 2022 and Gigi's glittering gold look in 2018, but there may be some hidden gems you missed.
We revisited all of the sisters' Met Gala looks through the years. Scroll on to see what Gigi and Bella wore, from 2015 to the most recent.
Met Gala 2025: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”
Gigi represented the Hadids at the Met Gala 2025 in a Miu Miu look. Paying homage to Zelda Wynn Valdes, her look was a glittering gold halter dress with a drop waist.
Met Gala 2024: “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”
Bella, who had taken a break from being in the public eye and just recently returned to promote her new fragrance line, didn't make it to this Met Gala, but Gigi was still in good company, with Thom Browne.
Gigi's off-the-shoulder white gown, adorned with a 3D yellow flower at the hip, was covered in dazzling, shimmery beads. Over the skirt, she wore a slouchy jacket, a clever nod to the “reawakening fashion” theme. It flowed into a long, extravagant train similarly covered in yellow flowers, plus a ruffly black trim. She wore her blonde hair in a loosely curled bob and completed the look with a red lip.
Met Gala 2023: “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”
Gigi was flying solo for the Met Gala 2023, too, but Bella did take to Instagram to celebrate Karl Lagerfeld, who was being honored that night.
Dressed in a sheer Givenchy dress with a corseted bodice, Gigi accessorized with pearls, a nod to Lagerfeld's personal style. She completed the look with a smoky eye and cat eyeliner, a small detail to nod to the designer's beloved cat, Choupette.
Met Gala 2022: “In America: An Anthology of Fashion”
Bella returned to the red carpet in 2022, joining Gigi. They each showed off their unique style, but both did happen to be wearing corsets.
Gigi brought cozy vibes to the Met Gala this year with a giant puffer jacket over her corseted red-latex catsuit from Versace. Thanks to the matching lipstick, she was wearing red from head to toe, and even tied her hair back in an updo to let the crimson color shine.
Dressed in Burberry, Bella wore a black-latex corset with a matching sheer-black skirt and sleeves. She completed the look with lace gloves and tights, and coordinated black heels. For a bit of contrast, she wore a statement layered pearl anklet, which matched her earrings.
Met Gala 2021: “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”
Gigi attended on her own this year—but with a new hair color.
Gigi wore a Prada white column gown, complete with a corset and a black bodice layered underneath for a peekaboo effect, which matched her black leather opera gloves. In addition to the red hair, she wore a wash of bright blue eye shadow, ensuring there was a pop of color in her look.
Met Gala 2019: “Camp: Notes on Fashion”
For the camp theme, Gigi and Bella invested in sparkles: Gigi was glittering head to toe; and Bella's dress was adorned in gem stones.
In addition to her Michael Kors Collection catsuit, cape, and head covering adorned by glitter and feathers, Gigi showed her dedication to the theme with super long faux white eyelashes.
Bella's Moschino dress featured a bold cutout lined with jewels at the hip, and she added bedazzled opera gloves to match. The most surprising part of her look, though, might have been the pixie cut.
Met Gala 2018: “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination Costume Institute Gala”
For this theme, the Hadid sisters experimented with texture in two very different ways.
Gigi went all out with the sparkle. The dark blue one-shoulder dress featured gold embroidery that looked like an angel's wing. She let the gown shine by pushing her hair back behind her shoulders, opted for a simple navy heel, but she did match her nails to the glittering gold.
Bella went with an all-black look from Chrome Hearts, but she still shined thanks to the latex bodice of the dress, plus the leather overcoat and gloves. Fully committed to the theme, she wore a skirt and train covered in crosses.
Met Gala 2017: “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between”
Gigi and Bella chose unique silhouettes this year, but the juxtaposition was in their color palettes. Gigi opted for a lighter neutral hue, matching her new hair color, and Bella wore a darker shade, matching her own hair.
Gigi wore a one-shoulder deconstructed blazer dress with an asymmetrical train on one side. To complete the look, she wore a thigh-high fishnet sock and a matching sheer shoe. For balance, she chose to let a few strands of her updo hang loose, like side bangs.
Bella wore a black lace catsuit with matching shoes, opting to accessorize with only silver cuff bracelets. She wore her dark hair in a bob, emphasizing the suit's off-the-shoulder neckline.
Met Gala 2016: “Manus x Machina: Fashion in An Age of Technology”
For this year, Gigi and Bella both chose dark hues. While Gigi leaned into the futuristic vibe with her shimmering gown, Bella played with textures. They did, however, both wear the same edgy detail: a bunch of rings.
Dressed by Tommy Hilfiger, Gigi wore a sparkly silver bodysuit layered under a sheer gray fabric that started at the neck and flowed into a full skirt. The metallic part allowed her to match her date, Zayn Malik, who wore a suit with shiny silver armor.
Bella wore a black Givenchy gown with a strapless bodice, flouncy train, and slit in the skirt to show off her thigh-high, open-toe sock boots.
Met Gala 2015: “China: Through the Looking Glass”
Gigi and Bella made their Met Gala debut in 2015. At the time, Gigi had just turned 20 and Bella was 18.
For her first Met Gala, Gigi wore a stunning red Diane von Furstenberg dress. She matched her shoes and nails to the color of the fabric, but contrasted it with a bright pink shimmery lip. Her long blonde hair was styled in loose curls and parted in the middle. She was ahead of her time!
Bella put a twist on the classic LBD for her Met Gala debut. Her dress featured a metallic floral motif, which she matched her accessories to for a cohesive and very sparkly look. She, like her sister, went with a bright pink lip, but wore her hair in a slicked-back top bun.
