Sabrina Carpenter Says Her ‘Nonsense’ Outros Are More Than Just “Obnoxiously Horny”

The star is shutting down the notion that she’s risqué just for the sake of being risqué.

If you have been remotely interested in Sabrina Carpenter over the past few years, you'd surely know the star has a penchant for NSFW lyrics. Whether it is with songs like "A Nonsense Christmas" or her adlibbed "Nonsense" outros, Carpenter will never shy away from a good raunchy reference, but the singer is also quashing all speculation that she's just “obnoxiously horny.”

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Sabrina Carpenter opened up about her infamous "Nonsense" outros, which tend to go massively viral across social media, and admitted that despite the often explicit nature of the verses, they are actually a lot more introspective than they are just purely sexually titillating.

"I feel like I've learned a lot more about sexuality through writing [the outros] than people think," Carpenter admitted in the interview. “I think people think I'm just obnoxiously horny when in reality, writing them comes from the ability to not be fearful of your sexuality as opposed to just not being able to put it down.”

In case you need a refresher, when performing "Nonsense" live, Carpenter has made it a tradition to wrap up the song with an ad-libbed outro custom-penned for every tour stop. While some are just cute nods to the specific city she's performing in, more often than not, she takes the NSFW route — especially during her more recent Eras Tour stops supporting Taylor Swift.

Some of the risqué hall of farmers from recent stops include "When you go down under, do you miss me? He's so big I felt it in my kidney. Screamed so loud they heard it here in Sydney," "How to ride it, I can think of five ways. My head goes so hard I'm giving migraines. How loud do you get in Buenos Aires?," "D-I-C-K I am good at spelling. Tastes so good, I need a second helping. Aren't you glad I know how to say Melbourne," and "Told that boy to sit me down on all fours. I told that boy go faster, now I'm all sore. You hit a little different here, Singapore."

Speaking of Singapore, fans think Carpenter dedicated one of her NSFW "Nonsense" outros to rumored boyfriend Barry Keoghan when he came to support her during a couple of the shows. "He said that he wishes he was on me. Got me wetter than the Jewel Changi. Singapore, I hope you like my songy," Carpenter sang, which made the Irish actor cover half his face to hide a coy smile. (You can see his reaction here.)

In her Cosmo interview, Carpenter also opened up about generally being scrutinized by the public, especially when it comes to her romantic life, saying: “I wish more people knew that there's nuance, as opposed to taking everything on the internet as fact. They know in their own lives that they might be texting someone but not in a relationship. But for some reason, it's very black and white when it comes to the internet and the way that people on the internet are portrayed. I have to laugh at it, though, because sometimes I read some funny sh*t, but it almost feels like I'm reading about someone else.”

To wrap up her interview, Carpenter also offered two essential sex tips: 1) “Whatever you do, don't get pregnant.” And 2) "Do whatever feels most comfortable to you. You can be curious and ask questions, but a lot of it is just going to be you learning yourself. So do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and safe." Loud and clear.
