Rowan Blanchard interviewed Jazz Jennings for the latest issue of Dazed magazine, and the result is exactly as wonderful as we would have hoped.

The two speak candidly, teen to teen, and the end result is a gorgeous conversation that dives into all aspects of Jazz's life. And the activist and author — her second book will be out later this year! — makes an outstanding point about being a transgender teen: that's just one part of her identity.
"[People ask], ‘How does it feel to be transgender?’ or, ‘Why do you think this way?’ – blah, blah, blah! All these questions," she told Rowan. "And I tell them, ‘You know, I’m not just a transgender individual, I’m also Jazz.’ I’m a soccer player, I’m an artist, I love to be creative. I am a representative in my class office. I’m on the varsity soccer team, I am going to do tennis later in the year. I’m in the Gay-Straight Alliance and the Jewish Student Connection, as well…"

The two go on to talk about a lot of the other things that make Jazz who she is, like mermaids, Stanley Kubrick movies, and looking up to Laverne Cox as a "possibility model."
"We have Caitlyn Jenner, Laverne Cox, Janet Mock…they’re such inspirations for trans individuals," Jazz explained. "But I tend not to have role models – just because I like some of the things that a person does, I don’t necessarily want to be them."
We are so down to start using "possibility model" instead.
