However, as summer comes to an end and fashion month is at it's prime, we can't help but want to foresee what's going to be trending once fall and winter's doom and gloom is long over and the clock strikes 2020. Because as much as we love our all-black, model-off-duty looks and all the plaid in the world, sometimes you just want to jump on that color train and ride it all year long. Sure, there are plenty of spring-summer 2020 trends you can shop (and wear) as soon as you finish this article, but which colors you should gravitate towards is just as important. Luckily, Pantone Color Institute has already reported the top 12 stand out colors that will be all over the runway, streets, and Instagram.
In a statement, Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Institute, shared that the colors "express our desire for a sense of the familiar." Which comes as no surprise since we're all dressing like children anyway. Eiseman also added that the colors are, "friendly and relatable" featuring "a palette of colors that conveys a sense of ease". She continues, "At the same time, in this era of personalized self- expression, this palette of recognized favorites uses the familiar to take some unique twists and turns highlighting elements of humor, modernity, and entertainment. Combining our desire for stability, creativity, and more spontaneous design approaches, the color palette for Spring/Summer 2020 infuses heritage and tradition with a colorful youthful update that creates strong multi-colored combinations as well as energizing and optimistic pairings,”.
Long story short, Pantone has highlighted a dozen hues, from blazing reds to not so mellow yellows that we've already been spotting all over New York and London Fashion Week Spring Summer 2020 collections.
