What is Finding Her Edge about?
Finding Her Edge is based on a young adult book by Jennifer Iacopelli and was also inspired by Jane Austen's classic novel Persuasion. In the TV adaptation, Adriana Russo is the middle sister in a family of figure skating royalty, and while the Russo family has had its success in the past, their ice rink is struggling financially.
Adriana, who has lost some of her passion for skating, begins training for the World Championships and amidst her hard work, finds herself in a love triangle between her cocky new playboy partner Brayden and her original partner Freddie, with whom there is definitely some unfinished romantic business.
Brayden and Adriana pretend to be in love to help boost their profile and earn sponsorships, but Adriana hasn't let go of her feelings for Freddie yet. Adriana has to navigate the pressure of saving her family's skating dynasty, her desire to win, and her conflicted feelings about the two boys in her life. Will the fake feelings turn into real ones or will she skate her way back to her first love instead? And what will happen when Freddie hits the ice with a new partner?
Who is in the cast of Finding Her Edge?
Madelyn Keys, who previously starred in Netflix's The Exchange, stars as figure skater Adriana Russo. (And if you think she looks like a combination of Hunger Games-era Jennifer Lawrence and Emily Browning, you're not alone.)
Alexandra Beaton and Alice Malakhov play her sisters Elise and Maria; Beaton appeared in Overcompensating, and Malakhov had a role on Netflix's Anne with an E. Cale Ambrozic, who appeared in We Were Liars, plays Brayden Elliot, Adriana's new skating partner, while Olly Atkins stars as her former partner and first love Freddie O'Connell. Millie Davis, who previously appeared in The Umbrella Academy, plays Freddie's new partner Riley Monroe.

Will there be a second season of Finding Her Edge?
Good news! There will be a second season of Finding Her Edge! On February 3, Netflix announced that the series was set for season 2. According to the streamer, season 1 was a major hit; it's been in the top 10 English TV series since its January 22 release and has been viewed over 12 million times.
“I set out to make a show about love, featuring characters navigating a particularly difficult path in their lives and in their sport," showrunner Jeff Norton shared in a statement announcing the renewal. "It’s a true gift to be able to work with such a talented cast to extend these characters’ journeys in Season 2, with the support of Netflix and WildBrain. I’m certain fans will be delighted as we delve deeper into the two love triangles that anchor our show—the romantic one and the familial one. There’s plenty of drama to come both on and off the ice.”
Author Jennifer Iacopelli, who wrote the book the series was based on, said she was “over the moon” at the reception. “To see my book come to life and watch the world fall in love with my characters has been a dream come true, and now that dream gets to continue with a season two!" the author shared in a statement. "I can't wait for audiences to see what's in store for Adriana, Brayden, Freddie, and the rest of Team Russo!”
What will happen in Finding Her Edge season 2?
SPOILERS AHEAD! In the final episode of Finding Her Edge season one, Adriana and Brayden accomplished their goal and won the World Championships, all while pretending to be a couple to increase their profile.
The two beat out Adriana's ex, Freddie, and his partner Riley, but that doesn't mean we've seen the last of Freddie. At the end of the season, Adriana follows her heart and reconnects with her ex, kissing him and causing conflict with Brayden, who had started crushing on his skating partner for real. The two, fresh off their win, end their partnership, and the two pairs end up doing a switcheroo, with Adriana pairing with Freddie and Brayden with Riley. Consider the stakes raised!
