Met Gala 2026 was a family affair, and yes, that includes nepo babies (the polarizing colloquial term for the famous family of celebrities). During one of the biggest red-carpet events of the year, there are always members of different generations of dynasties walking those famous Met Gala steps.
The discourse on nepo babies has quieted somewhat in the past few years, and the way we think about famous families has changed too. As we said last year, we don't use the term “nepo baby” derogatorily; even with a leg up, these so-called nepo babies are still working to make their way in music, movies, reality TV—you name it. In fact, many of them have even surpassed their parents and other family members to become the most famous part of the family tree, which can be especially fun to see.
Because the entertainment world is a small one, it's no surprise to find famous family members on the same red carpet. And again, belonging to a specific family or dynasty doesn't discredit anyone's achievements. Ahead, see some of the nepo babies who attended the 2026 Met Gala.
Sunday Rose Kidman Urban
17-year-old Sunday Rose Kidman Urban is the daughter of both acting and music A-listers: Oscar winner Nicole Kidman and Grammy winner Keith Urban, who announced their divorce last year. Kidman is a co-chair at Met Gala 2026, so Sunday Rose’s appearance makes total sense (plus she’s got a budding modeling career of her own!).
Kendall Jenner
At Met Gala 2026, Kendall Jenner showed out wearing Gap Studio by Zac Posen.
While Jenner is as famous—if not more famous—than some of her older siblings, she did get her start in the industry via her family’s original reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. She was just 12 when the show began, and now she’s part of the most famous family in the world and has made a name for herself in the fashion industry, appearing on countless magazine covers and runways.
Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner wore Schiaparelli to Met Gala 2026, joining her sisters with a nipple-forward couture look. Kylie has also made her name over the years, with multiple entrepreneurial ventures, the most famous of which is Kylie Cosmetics.
Hailey Bieber
Hailey Bieber took the Met Gala 2026 red carpet in glamorous Saint Laurent.
The Jenner sisters' good friend Hailey Bieber is, of course, a member of the Baldwin family of actors; her dad is Stephen Baldwin, while Alec Baldwin is her uncle. Bieber began her career as a model when she was teenager, but she’s now risen to prominence as the founder of her skincare and beauty brand Rhode, which recently made Time 100’s Most Influential Companies list.
Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid wore an iconic Miu Miu look for her latest Met Gala outing.
The Hadid sisters are mega-famous models now, though Gigi has noted that she's technically a “nepotism baby.” In 2023, she acknowledged that she got a little boost from her mom's modeling career and role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and her father's real estate business —but she has worked hard to get to where she is today. "My parents told me, ‘Just because you have parents who were successful, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t walk into the job being as nice and as hard-working as you can be,’” she told The Sunday Times.
Zoë Kravitz
Zoë Kravitz has Hollywood in her blood; her mom is actor Lisa Bonet and her dad is musician and actor Lenny Kravitz. She has forged her own career as an actress, starring in The Batman, Blink Twice, and the Divergent series (IYKYK). At Met Gala 2026, Kravitz wore Saint Laurent.
Gracie Abrams
Musician Gracie Abrams is the daughter of filmmaker and creator J. J. Abrams, who created Lost and Alias and co-wrote and directed films in the Star Wars franchise, among many other achievements. Her music career, however, has taken her firmly into the spotlight; her song “That’s So True” nabbed her her first Hot 100 top 10 hit, and she’s been nominated for two Grammys, including for Best New Artist.
Abrams, a Chanel ambassador, wore the brand to this year’s Met Gala in an elegant follow-up to the Chanel gown she wore in 2024, her first outing at the event.
Blue Ivy Carter
Blue Ivy Carter wore a flowing gown for her first Met Gala appearance, and the internet was immediately obsessed. Blue Ivy, 14, is the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and has been growing in star power since joining her mom as a dancer on the Cowboy Carter tour. Fans have watched her grow in confidence in real time, and it’s only a matter of time before we’ll see Blue Ivy step firmly into the spotlight on her own.
