It’s the first Monday in May, which means the Met Gala 2026 red carpet has arrived. Every year the benefit brings out the biggest names in fashion—including designers and models, of course, but also actors, musicians, athletes, and more—to support the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute.
As always, the full guest list is under wraps until the very moment attendees step onto the red carpet. But we do know that we can expect to see this year's co-chairs, Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour. We also expect to see members of the 2026 Met Gala Host Committee, including Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, Lisa, Chloe Malle, Sam Smith, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, and Yseult. Additionally, Adut Akech, Angela Bassett, Sinéad Burke, Rebecca Hall, Aimee Mullins, Tschabalala Self, Amy Sherald, and Chase Sui Wonders joined the committee.
For the Met Gala 2026's red-carpet guests, the dress code is "Fashion Is Art" to honor the new exhibition theme, "Costume Art." Curated by Andrew Bolton, the exhibition pairs pieces of art with pieces of fashion to highlight “the centrality of the dressed body” in the museum. For this year that means we will likely see references to archival fashion, as we have in the past, but we might also see nods to famous pieces of art.
Given the highly anticipated guest list, the extravagant looks, and all the big moments you’ll see online, we're sure your feeds will be filled with pics and videos from the Met Gala 2026 red carpet. And if you're here to focus on the fashion details, we've got you covered. Below, check out all the Met Gala 2026 red-carpet looks you won't want to miss.
