The Met Gala is called fashion’s biggest night of the year, but beauty is also a key piece of the extravagant looks that grace the red carpet. Last night, for the Met Gala 2026, stars like Alysa Liu, Tyla, Emma Chamberlain, and more proved exactly that.
There’s never just one way to approach your Met Gala glam. Matching the outfit can pay off, of course: BLACKPINK’s Jisoo coordinated her baby pink makeup with her dress; Tyla chose an unconventional highlighter to go with her look; and Keke Palmer went for a monochrome effect. But contrast can also be key: Emma Chamberlain juxtaposed her brightly painted gown with darker makeup; Anok Yai’s gold tears popped against her black hooded dress; and Alysa Liu’s halo hair deviated from her red theme for the night, which added extra dimension to the look.
No matter what route the guests took, they made it clear that beauty can take even the most elaborate outfit to the next level. Below, we revisit the best beauty looks from the Met Gala 2026. Scroll on to see the glam!
Jisoo’s Coordinated Hair and Makeup
For her Met Gala debut, Jisoo went with ethereal glam. Her hair, adorned in shimmering pink flowers, was enough of a nod to the art motif of the night, but the face-framing curly tendrils she wore loose really drove the point home. To match her gown, Jisoo wore pink Dior makeup. The look was almost monochromatic, with her eyes, cheeks, and lips all covered in dreamy pink shades. But a wash of silver on the inner corners of the eyes was the perfect touch to make the look pop, especially under the light.
Anok Yai’s Sculpted Tears
Channeling sculpture art, Anok Yai’s body was covered in gold and bronze glitter. It was beautiful enough on its own, but she expanded the effect all the way up to her hair. The most major part of the look, however, was the faux tears under her eyes.
Emma Chamberlain & Keke Palmer’s Spiky Pixies
Short hairstyles have been trending for quite some time now, but Emma Chamberlain and Keke Palmer both styled their pixie cuts with the ends slightly curled up for a spiky effect. It takes us back to a certain style worn by our favorite vampire sister, Alice Cullen.
Eileen Gu's Glossy Glam
Eileen Gu gave “bubble dress” a literal meaning last night! The dress may have stolen the show on its own, but don’t gloss over the glam, which was a perfect match, including soap nails and her makeup's glowy finish.
Hunter Schafer's Color Coordination
Hunter Schafer gave us a pleasant surprise last night with subtle pops of blue in her hair, which complemented her dress. The effect was even more delightful for how it paired with her blue eye shadow and pink blush.
Alysa Liu's Halo Hair
We'd recognize that halo hair anywhere! But Alysa Liu gave her signature look a little twist last night by opting for sleek, wet waves. To make the front layers of her hair stand out like a hime cut, the figure skater pinned the medium-length layers behind her ears, making it appear as though she just had short money pieces and long tresses in the back. It was the perfect way to stay true to her alt style while trying something new for a big red carpet.
Bad Bunny's Special Effects
How could we not give Bad Bunny kudos for a detailed look like this? He was almost unrecognizable in makeup that made him appear 50 years older.
Blue Ivy Carter's Picturesque Curls
From the family who created Cécred, Blue Ivy Carter stepped out in a show-stopping hairstyle. Her braids and loose curls were picturesque, and her blonde highlights really made them pop.
Kylie Jenner's Bleached Brows
Sometimes taking a big risk is worth it for a major moment like the Met Gala. For the 2026 event, Kylie Jenner stepped out in bleached brows, which matched the skin-tone color of her gown.
Tyla's Glitter
Tyla, who was absolutely dripping in crystals, upped the ante with washes of glitter all over her body. The placement under her eyes, as if the silver sparkles were her highlighter, was particularly eye-catching.
Odessa A’Zion's Gem Constellations
Gems have become an exciting addition to makeup in the last few years, thanks to Euphoria and Zara Larsson. Odezza A’zion brought the trend to the 2026 Met Gala. She did her makeup herself, and her version of the trend is quite refreshing: She wore rhinestones all over her face like constellations—and if you look closely, you'll see they're scattered across her body too.
SZA's Gold Eye Shadow
SZA's cat-eye moment was a striking image on the 2026 Met Gala carpet. Her eyes were adorned by double-stacked Lily Lashes, and accented in gold that reached all the way up to her forehead. A glossy berry lip and an ornate headpiece completed the vision.
