School is almost back in session — at least for Ruby Bell and James Beaufort. Season 2 of Prime Video's global hit series Maxton Hall – The World Between Us is officially around the corner, and the first trailer for the show's long-anticipated return is already teasing chaos galore.
Following the premiere of the six-part first season in May 2024, Maxton Hall season 2 will be hitting Prime Video this November — and don't think a fall release means things are any less heated.
Starring Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung, Maxton Hall became Prime Video's most-watched International Original series of all time after the debut of its first season, reaching #1 on Prime Video charts in more than 120 countries.
The show, based on Mona Kasten's original book series, has become a global phenomenon, and fans have been eagerly anticipating a return to Maxton Hall College ever since the season 1 finale. Production for the second season of Maxton Hall started in June 2024, and now the wait is almost over.
When we left things off, Ruby and James finally slept together and decided to be honest with each other, and everything seemed to be going well. She aced her Oxford interview, and her dream was that much closer to becoming a reality. However, James, who skipped his final interview, shortly after finds out that his mother has died after suffering a stroke. He goes to Ruby after having an altercation with his father, but decides not to approach her after seeing how happy she looks with her family.

Is there a trailer for Maxton Hall season 2?
There is indeed! After much anticipation, Prime Video finally released the official trailer for Maxton Hall season 2 on October 2, 2025. The trailer was first unveiled during Prime Video’s Retreat showcase event in Ibiza, Spain, which celebrated the show's international success with fans.
In the trailer, which you can watch in German with English subtitles above, we get a glimpse into plenty of chaos. “Some dreams are so beautiful that you want to stop time. And sometimes, one second is enough to turn them into a nightmare,” Ruby shares as we see memories of her and James kissing and being happy together. We then cut to a pool scene and see James and Elaine sharing a steamy kiss — with Ruby witnessing it all.

When does Maxton Hall season 2 come out?
The first three episodes of Maxton Hall season 2 will be available worldwide on Prime Video starting November 7, 2025. The next three episodes will then premiere individually on a weekly basis, with the finale scheduled for November 28, 2025.
What will Maxton Hall season 2 be about?
Prime Video has confirmed that Maxton Hall season 2 will be based on Mona Kasten's Save You, the second book in the author's best-selling Maxton Hall series. Season 1 adapted the event from the first book, Save Me, and there's also a third book, Save Us, which Prime Video has already confirmed will be adapted into a third season with Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten once again playing the leading roles. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
The official synopsis for Maxton Hall season 2 shared by Prime Video is as follows: “Those who fly high can also fall low... After their passionate night together in Oxford and her greatest life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby. But a stroke of fate in James's family changes everything, and James himself, of all people, brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality. Ruby is devastated. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James — and she has never been so hurt by anyone either. She wants her old life back, where no one at Maxton Hall knew her and she wasn't part of the elitist world of her classmates. But she can't forget James — especially since he's doing everything he can to win her back.”
The streamer has also teased that “fans can look forward to big emotions, dramatic twists, love, friendship, and betrayal – and of course, the question: Can true love really overcome all obstacles?”

Yes! To coincide with the release of the trailer, Prime Video released brand-new images from Maxton Hall season 2, which include a shot of Ruby and James looking into each other's eyes, Ruby looking ethereal, a shirtless James in the pool, and a shot of Ruby and James holding hands.

Who is in the cast of Maxton Hall season 2?
The cast of Maxton Hall season 2 is once again led by Harriet Herbig-Matten as Ruby and Damian Hardung as James. The rest of the returning cast also includes Sonja Weißer as Lydia, Ben Felipe as Cyril, Fedja van Huêtas Mortimer, Runa Greiner as Ember, Justus Riesner as Alistair, Andrea Guo as Lin, Frederic Balonier as Kieran, and Eli Riccardi as Elaine.
