Latto opened up about being in her best era, the happy chaos of her Sugar Honey Iced Tea Tour, and being nominated for a third Grammy while making an appearance at this year's Teen Vogue Summit.
Joining Teen Vogue's Culture Editor Kaitlyn McNab on stage in front of an audience, Latto spoke about coming up at such a young age, serving as a judge on Netflix's Rhythm & Flow season 2, and how grateful she is for the success she's achieved — including her most recent album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, which came out in August 2024. The musician was recently nominated for a 2025 Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her hit single from the album, “Big Mama," and revealed that she always knew the song was special.
“It means something to me," she said about the nomination. “I never knew [rapping] would take me this far.” Latto is currently touring arenas for her Sugar Honey Iced Tea Tour, which she says has been the most inspiring for her and reminds her why she does music.
“Sometimes you get caught up in the internet and a bunch of trolls and people don’t like you but every day I’m seeing, hugging, and shaking hands with people that love me,” Latto said of her tour. “Like they love me so much and it got me re-inspired to be like, you know what, if anything else, like this who I do it for.”
As for what's to come, Latto is the type to just put her head down and work instead of coming up with specific goals. “I think when you have good intentions, the world is gonna work in your favor,” Latto continued. “One thing about me, I’m gonna meet God halfway."
