Kai Cenat is leaving his name in the history books of Twitch. Just days before closing out Mafiathon 3, his month-long subscriber marathon series, the streamer has officially become the first user on the app with over one million active subscribers.
Kai Cenat, who had previously achieved the record for most active subscribers in December 2024 with his Mafiathon 2, surpassing 700k, reached the one million milestone on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Twitch celebrated the feat on its X account, recapping the best moments from the still-to-end subathon and writing, “Chat, he did it. 1 million subs in 27 days. Congrats @KaiCenat. Legendary.”

Kai Cenat's Mafiathon 3 kicked off on September 1, 2025, and will end on September 30, 2025. During the marathon, the streamer has been streaming consecutively for weeks, joined daily by surprise guests the likes of Kim Kardashian, Mariah Carey, Law Roach, Latto, Ice Spice, Keke Palmer, the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Ed Sheeran, and more, including Linkin Park, who played a surprise set on Cenat's stream just a couple of days before he hit the one million subs mark.
Cenat, who has nearly 20 million followers on Twitch, started Mafiathon 3 in an effort to not only reach the one-million active subscriber mark but also to raise funds to build a new school in Nigeria, an initiative he launched during his last subathon.
In the trailer for Mafiathon 3, Cenat revealed that if he reached his goal of one million subs, he'd cut off his hair. Since then, he's announced that Lebron James will do the honor on the final day of Mafiathon 3.
