Justin Bieber is making headlines for a recent interaction with paparazzi. On April 9, 2025, the star, who is currently in Palm Springs to attend Coachella 2025, was filmed confronting photographers while on a coffee run with friends, accusing them of only caring about money.
In the video, which TMZ shared, Bieber is greeted good morning by one of the people filming, to which he replies, “No. Not good morning. You already know. Why are you here?” before proceeding to address the cameras directly. “Money, that’s all you want. You don’t care about human beings,” the star continued, repeating similar variations of the blunt sentiment before going into the store with his friends.
While some are describing Bieber’s actions as a “heated exchange,” also using words like “unprovoked” and “lashing out,” fans of the Justice singer are defending him online, noting he’s been dealing with paparazzi, who often try to make small talk while crowding him, for the majority of his life.
“His crash out is valid, these ppl have been following him since his teenage years and will prbably [sic] follow him til he gets old,” someone pointed out on X. “They’re always constantly harassing him. HIS WHOLE life has been cameras in his face. everything he said was VALID,” a second user added. “There’s nothing funny about this. People should stop harassing Justin Bieber,” a third one echoed.
Back in February, Bieber had a similar — though arguably calmer — squabble with another paparazzo while he was seen leaving a breakfast date in LA with Hailey Bieber. After the paparazzo generally thanked him, Bieber implied that he does not particularly want to be addressed when followed around.
In videos of the interaction, Bieber can be heard saying: “I don’t want you to be here, so when you thank me, it’s disrespectful. Just take your pictures and let me do my thing.”
Bieber’s new viral incident comes at a time of heightened scrutiny for the star, who has been dealing with relentless media speculation about his mental health and his marriage.
A rep for the star recently spoke on the hostility and allegations to TMZ, saying the conjectural chatter around Bieber’s mental and physical health is “exhausting and pitiful and shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”
