Following months of anticipation, the name of Jungkook's solo album has been announced, and we can't help but feel a bit nostalgic.
On October 3, 2023, BigHit Music announced that Jungkook's long-anticipated solo album would be called Golden, which long-time fans will know is a descriptor that holds a special significance for the BTS member.
Often praised for his vocal prowess and skillful abilities all across the board, Jungkook was quickly nicknamed as the “golden maknae” (i.e., youngest) of BTS by fans, a label that even his fellow members later adopted. The moniker has followed him around for much of his career and was even turned into an unofficial catchy fanchant for "Euphoria" that Jungkook himself unknowingly created in a Bangtan Bomb video. “Golden Closet Films” is also the name of the travel vlog series he filmed and edited a few years ago.
Now, the word “golden” is taking on a whole new meaning for the star — it has gone from inspiring birthday hashtags and fanchants to officially inspiring the name for Jungkook's momentous solo debut.
“Golden takes its motif from the golden moments of Jung Kook as a solo artist,” a press release about the album clarified. “Known as the ‘Golden Maknae’ of BTS, Jungkook is set to unveil a new release with his unique timbre that will captivate listeners worldwide.”
Jungkook's solo album Golden is slated to release on November 3. The album will have 11 tracks in total, including previously released singles "Seven (feat. Latto)" and "3D (feat. Jack Harlow).” Pre-orders for the album will open on October 3 from 10 p.m. ET.
