I Lived Out My Hollywood History Fantasy at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills

It’s not the kind of stay most of us can do often, but when you do decide to go for it, it really does feel worth every dollar.

The City of Angels is cinematic in itself, but if there's one place in LA that can make you instantly feel like you've walked onto a movie set, that's the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire.

Located right at the intersection of the famous Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard, the Beverly Wilshire isn’t just a luxury hotel. It’s also a Hollywood landmark with a starring role in pop culture history.

The Beverly Wilshire has long been a beloved filming location because of its old Hollywood glamour aesthetic, sweeping staircases, and prime location in the heart of Beverly Hills. The venue's most notable film credit is for the classic '90s flick Pretty Woman starring Julia Roberts: her character stays at the hotel during her whirlwind romance with Richard Gere's character. The hotel is also are featured in a slew of other popular movies. Scenes from Clueless and Sex and the City were also filmed here, so if you're even slightly obsessed with either, there’s a special kind of thrill that comes from walking in the same spot where Cher or Carrie once stood.

The hotel gives full LA Hollywood fantasy, in the best way possible. But don’t let the glamour fool you — there’s a relaxing, low-key vibe underneath all the sparkle that makes it perfect for unwinding. After a breakneck few weeks, traveling from New York to Seoul to Miami to California, it was nice to sit back and relax in one of the snazziest hotels I’ve ever been to.

If you’re looking for a splurge-worthy staycation or want to spoil yourself on a trip to Los Angeles, the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire is hard to beat. Now, let’s be honest: it’s not cheap. This is definitely a place you book when you’re celebrating something, or just need to feel like the most pampered version of yourself. It’s not the kind of stay most of us can do often, but when you do decide to go for it, it really does feel worth every dollar.

Under all that glitz and Hollywood glam, the hotel also has a serene aura that makes it feel laid-back and exclusive. It was the perfect place to breathe and recharge. The lobby alone sets the tone. It’s grand without being over-the-top, with towering floral arrangements and marble floors that somehow don’t feel intimidating. The staff greet you with the kind of warmth that makes you feel right at home, whether you’re checking in for the first time or just popping down to the bar for a bite.

The spa was the highlight. I booked a body scrub treatment, and it truly felt like shedding a layer of exhaustion. Between the calming scents and the amazing staff, it was the closest I’ve come to feeling like I hit a reset button. Then it was straight to the pool. Tucked away in its own private corner of the property, it feels more like a European resort than a Los Angeles hotel. I carved out time just to sit there and do nothing: no distractions, no rush, just stillness and sun.

My room was classic and cozy, with just the right touch of luxury. I have a tradition of FaceTiming my mother, sister, and grandma in every new hotel room I stay in, and they were thoroughly impressed (which means the room was a 10 out of 10). But my favorite spot in the whole room was the balcony. Every afternoon, I’d head out there with my Kindle and just melt into the moment. It became my daily ritual during my stay, and I was sad to leave it behind.

Food-wise, on-site restaurant THE Blvd is worth a visit even if you’re not staying at the hotel. It’s perfect for people-watching, which is my all-time favorite pastime. Whether you’re brunching with friends or having a solo dining moment, it’s a great way to soak up the scene without feeling like you’re trying too hard. The in-room dining was also a treat — specifically the Street Cart Fried Rice, which was my personal favorite.

For young locals or visitors looking to treat themselves, the Beverly Wilshire isn’t just a spot for out-of-town tourists or red carpet types. It’s for anyone who needs a reset and wants a little main character energy while doing it. Whether it’s a one-night staycation or a weekend getaway, this place reminds you that, yes, you deserve to live your softest LA fantasy, even just for a night.
