Get ready for “guava girl” summer 2025. Just in time for the start of the new season, this fruit-inspired trend is taking over fashion and beauty.
Over the past few years, we’ve found that foods have been influencing our seasonal style. From the strawberry makeup and the tomato girl aesthetic of 2023 to the mocha monochrome trend of 2024 and the 2025 color of the year, mocha mousse, nods to our favorite little treats in our looks have helped us romanticize our everyday looks. Now, we’re taking a dose of tropical life with us everywhere we go, thanks to guava-inspired scents, colors, and styles. From flouncy pink dresses to fruity perfumes and pink and green nails, the hidden gem of the produce aisle is not so small anymore.
Why is guava so popular now?
The term “guava girl” began to trend in June 2025, making waves on Pinterest and Google. Given the fruit’s association with warm weather, it’s a fitting trend for summer on its own. It brings the vacation feeling to daily life, even when you’re just going to class, camp, or work.
There’s also been an uptick in brands using guava scents and hues. A prime example is the Tarte and Dunkin’ Donuts collab centered around the refreshers, including the guava flavor. "I’m a sucker for anything that looks like summer and feels like a treat — so this collab was a no-brainer,” Tarte CEO Maureen Kelly tells Teen Vogue. “Dunkin’ Refreshers are part of my daily routine, just like our maracuja juicy lips. And guava? I’ve been loving it. It’s bold, tropical, and instantly lifts my mood. Guava Girl Summer is my whole vibe right now.”
Drita Paljevic, head makeup artist at Kevyn Aucoin Beauty, tells Teen Vogue: "Guava is having a major beauty moment this summer, and from an artistry perspective, we’re so excited. Guava pink is a vibrant and easy-to-wear orange-pink hue — perfect for any age or skin tone. The shade delivers a natural, warm flush that makes skin look ever so slightly sun-kissed, making it a go-to in the warmer months.”
What is the “guava girl” aesthetic?
The guava girl aesthetic takes notes from the guava fruit itself and the warm climates in which they grow, like South America, South and Southeast Asia, and Southern Europe. Think light fabrics, flowy silhouettes, and bright colors, as if you’re about to enjoy a guava under the sun. The most prominent colors of the trend, though, are naturally pink and light green with a touch of yellow, like the picturesque flesh, skin, and seeds of the fruit.
What are “guava girl” outfits like?
To tap into this trend, embrace the fun of summer. Embrace the bold green, pink, and yellow colors of guava. Tap into asymmetrical silhouettes with plenty of movement. Layer on plenty of ruffles and don’t be afraid of sequins either.
What is guava makeup?
Guava makeup leans into typical summer makeup trends. It’s all about a glowy base with a touch of bronzer for a sun-kissed look and a flush of blush, preferably in a hue that resembles a pink guava. A matching lip gloss should do the trick, but to add some eye makeup to the look, consider a wash of matching guava eyeshadow with some highlight on the inner corners and a light swipe of mascara. Fame the face with some loose beachy curls or mermaid waves for some extra flair.
"To wear the ‘guava girl’ trend, the goal is to use color monochromatically — meaning use this same shade of peachy-pink on cheeks, lips, and eyes," Paljevic says. “Though this shade may be a little ‘brighter’ or ‘more pigmented’ than what you’re used to, using the same tones across these three areas will result in a very natural, but bright and summery look.”
What are guava nails?
Perhaps the most on-the-nose interpretation of the trend is guava nails. Whether matte or cat-eye, a baby green base topped with a touch of pink blush in the center gives the desired effect. For a hyperrealistic take, opt for a few dots on the pink part to mimic the seeds inside the fruit. A simple peachy pink, coral, or light green monochrome mani should do the trick if you prefer a more minimalistic approach.
