Gracie Abrams attended the Met Gala 2026 in classic Chanel—she's a brand ambassador—and looked like something out of an old Hollywood film.
Abrams, 26, wore an off-the-shoulder golden Chanel gown inspired by a Klimt painting and Manolo Blahnik heeled sandals—perfectly fitting the “Fashion Is Art” theme—and hair cut into an artfully chopped bixie.
The musician has often been seen rocking Chanel these days, including at the 2026 Oscars, which she attended with boyfriend and Oscar nominee Paul Mescal. At the awards show, she wore a black glittering tank top and long skirt, with a sheer neck scarf for dramatic effect. The whole look was amplified by her chic short hair.
Recently, Abrams has been teasing her next era on social media, and she announced that her first single of 2026 will be titled “Hit the Wall,” due to come out on May 14, less than two weeks after the Met Gala. “I love it with everything I have,” she wrote of the song on Instagram. She signed the message “DFH,” which fans think could be a clue about the album title. The photo for the announcement features Abrams in front of a blazing fire.
“Hit the Wall” will be Abrams's first official single release since The Secret of Us deluxe album came out in 2024 (though she did drop a live version of her song “Death Wish” in 2025). Abrams has been working with frequent collaborator Aaron Dessner on this new project. “Aaron and I are catching each other in these little pockets between hectic times,” she told Billboard in 2023. “Every day that I live with the music, things start to become a little clearer. There’s something we’re starting to crack that is making both of us feel energized.”
