Something seems off here.

Coffee, Pop-Tarts and...an apple? Something's not right in Stars Hallow.

Yesterday, Netflix shared an Instagram teaser for its Gilmore Girls reboot, A Year in the Life, featuring a scene that would feel familiar to Rory and Lorelai, minus the fruit.

It doesn't take a Chilton degree to know that the Gilmores have an aversion to all healthy and nutritious foods, so many fans surmised in the comments that the apple's appearance was a very important hint about a pregnancy plot line.

The clue stems back to season 5, episode 21, when Lorelai visits Sookie at the hospital while she's in labor. Lorelai sneaks off to speak to a doctor about a strange food craving she's been having after a night of unprotected fun with Luke.

Naturally, fans assumed, due to this convo, that the apple's presence in the photo could mean either Rory or Lorelai are pregnant in the new season of Gilmore Girls. It would fit considering Lorelai and Luke appear to still be happily together and previously hinted at wanting kids. And all three of Rory's infamous exes will be making appearances in the revival. (Could we even handle Jess as a baby daddy? Unclear.)

Other fans assured everyone that the apple-pastry platter is simply a call back to a scene in season 1, episode 13, where Lorelai prepares a snack for Rory and her Chilton classmates to munch on before pizza and a Bangles concert.

So, breathe, Stars Hallow residents. The apple Instagram may simply be hinting at another Bangles reunion as opposed to another Gilmore generation.
