It's only been a few months since Francia Raísa donated a kidney to best friend Selena Gomez — and just one week since Selena revealed they had undergone the operation — but the actress is already back in the gym. In an Instagram post on Thursday, Francia proudly showed off both her fierce AF workout and her two post-op scars.
In the video, which Francia captioned, "Happy to be back," she wears a black hat, gray leggings and a matching sports bra. As she works her biceps, the videographer circles around the 29-year-old and steps closer to her, revealing the pair of inch-long scars on her abs. The post's comments section is full of positive comments like "you are so so awesome, Francia," "those beautiful scars 😍😍" and "Your kind heart gives me hope."
Selena, 25, opened up to her fans last week on Instagram about the kidney transplant, which happened sometime over the summer. She posted a photo of herself and Francia wearing matching hospital gowns and smiling at each other in side-by-side hospital beds. "I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health," she captioned the post. "I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery."
The pop star and actress also gave a special shout-out to her donor and longtime BFF. "And finally, there aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raísa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis," she wrote.
Shortly after, Francia shared the same photo on her account. "I am beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process. This was part of our story, and we will share it soon, but what is important now is that this is not the only story," she captioned the sweet pic. "Love you sis, so glad we're on this journey together."
