Sheer is Florence Pugh's thing. The actor loves a see-through texture and often incorporates the trend into her red carpet moments, starting with a hot pink Valentino dress with a sheer bodice that had the actor speaking out against critics. Now, Florence Pugh has taken her love of sheer up a notch with another Valentino gown.

Pugh attended the Valentino Haute Couture fall-winter 2023/2024 show in Paris wearing a nearly see-through periwinkle gown with a deep V-neck and ruffled shoulders and a long, luxurious train that billowed beautifully behind her as she walked.

The dress itself was angelic and ethereal, made of the lightest, most diaphanous pale lilac fabric. The dress was a bit of an optical illusion; in certain lights, it was completely sheer on top, and in others, it appeared like a second skin.

The actor was topless under the dress and appeared to wear an invisible bikini panty under the dress. When Pugh turned around, a bold black bow at the neckline served as a delicious couture surprise and tied in her chunky black platform shoes and mini bag.

"I'm always so inspired. So grateful that we got to see the art that you and your creators and makers worked and continue to work so hard on," Pugh wrote on Instagram, tagging Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. “Stunning again. Well done to all who graced those steps, unbelievably beautiful show.”

The lilac dress comes just about a year after the pink gown and its accompanying controversy. At the time, Pugh spoke out against the conversation around her the dress and her body in it. "Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn't be a commentary on it," she wrote. “Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing. I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous. I wasn't before, during or even now after.”

Pugh has never been afraid to raise her voice and speak up when it matters most. "It isn't the first time and certainly won't be the last time a woman will hear what's wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers, what's worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be. Thankfully, I've come to terms with the intricacies of my body that make me, me. I'm happy with all of the 'flaws' that I couldn't bear to look at when I was 14," she shared. “So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my 'tiny tits', or how I should be embarrassed by being so 'flat chested'. I've lived in my body for a long time. I'm fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it. What's more concerning is…. Why are you so scared of breasts? Small? Large? Left? Right? Only one? Maybe none? What. Is. So. Terrifying.”

Since that moment, Pugh has continued to wear sheer pieces, like a see-through Valentino skirt and a glimmering sparkly sheer gown, also from the brand. The mix of sweet and punky with a playful wink is so Pugh and suits her style — and her trailblazing DGAF attitude — beautifully. What an icon!
