Emily in Paris will be taking a holiday away from the City of Light this upcoming season — but fans can still expect the drama to ensue.
During Netflix’s Tudum: A Global Fan Event Saturday in São Paulo, Brazil, the streaming company gave a sneak peek into the fourth season of the beloved Emily in Paris, which will feature our main characters heading off on a Roman holiday.
Lily Collins, who plays American transplant and marketing extraordinaire Emily, teased the forthcoming season in a video message to fans, mentioning that “so much happened that we need answers to.”
“It's safe to say we ended on a dramatic note last season, and surprise, it does not end there,” Collins said. “Is Alfie still heartbroken? Will Gabriel get his Michelin star? Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision? And what about Camille?”
Collins also posed the question that viewers have been asking since season 1: “Will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?” She then teased that the new season will have “more fun, more fashion” and “more drama.”
"While Emily's heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season," Collins continued. “Don't be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.”
The third season of Emily in Paris aired on December 21, 2022, and left many loose ends, including Emily's relationship with Alfie, and her on-and-off-again love triangle with Gabriel and Camille. With “unexpected twists” to come, fans will soon know where Emily's path leads.
Despite its criticisms, Emily in Paris has become one of Netflix's most popular shows — the second season was watched for 107.6 million hours within its first week. It's unclear when the fourth season will be released.
