Dylan Sprouse is now engaged to his longtime girlfriend, model Barbara Palvin! The pair are officially en route to marriage after five years of dating, but it turns out they've actually been betrothed for almost a year.
The couple broke the news on Instagram accompanying a new V Magazine interview, conducted by Sprouse's twin brother Cole. "Sprouse's [sic] to be," Dylan Sprouse wrote in his post. "With the power invested in V I am a Sprouse to be," Palvin captioned her video of the couple in wedding gear in front of a towering wedding cake.
In the interview, Sprouse revealed that he proposed to Palvin in September of 2022, but they'd kept the happy news private until now. "We just want to do it on our time," Palvin explained. "When some people leaked the information that we got engaged, our PR team was like, 'Hey, so you guys should do maybe a post about it or talk to this magazine or talk to that magazine…'" According to Palvin, that attention "really annoyed [her]" and she and Sprouse wanted to do things their way.
The couple is looking forward to doing marriage their way too; they plan to tie the knot in Palvin's native Hungary. "I think the definition of marriage is very different for our generation than what it meant for the previous one," Dylan Sprouse shared about being engaged. "For me, at least, marriage is a promise of kind of loving you endlessly, and being your partner."
Palvin, for her part, isn't nervous about walking down the aisle. "I think the engagement stressed me more than the wedding. I mean, a man has time to prepare for the proposal—Dylan kept the ring for seven months before he asked the question—but for me, it was right then and there. I knew since we started dating that I want to marry him, but it’s a big decision," she shared. Her future husband, however, is a little nervous about one part of the wedding. "Frankly, it’s about the first dance. I’m nervous about a choreographed dance," he joked. (Cole will serve as the best man, obviously.)
Palvin and Sprouse started dating in 2018 and have been living the good life ever since, despite the fact that the model was a little scared of all the attention. Thankfully, it worked out for both of them and we're truly thrilled for the future Mr. and Mrs.!
