If there’s one thing we love about First Lady Michelle Obama, it’s her relentless support for higher education. As part of her effort to inspire students across the nation to #ReachHigher, she's celebrating her third annual College Signing Day alongside 4,000 high school students from New York City at the Harlem Armory.
The National Center for Education Statistics found a 24% increase in college enrollment from 2002 to 2012, so we’re clearly moving in the right direction — but the organization predicts that increase to slow over the next 10 years. With the #ReachHigher initiative, FLOTUS is hoping to bring the U.S. back to the #1 global spot for highest concentration of college graduates.
Take a field trip across your newsfeed today, and you’ll see thousands of students like you (and celebs!) showing support for the campaign by rocking their college’s gear, along with the hashtags #ReachHigher, #CollegeSigningDay, and #BetterMakeRoom.
