The big moment is finally here. Chappell Roan is at the Grammys 2025!
The “Casual” singer showed up to the Grammys red carpet wearing vintage John Paul Gaultier couture from the 2003 collection. The long, yellow gown featured artistic paintings of what appeared to be ballerinas draped over layers of tulle. She paired the gorgeous dress with sheer blue opera gloves and yellow combat boots.
Roan told reporters that the frilly hat that adorned her head was part of the original 2003 runway look. The singer gave her own twist to the look with her signature makeup. Roan has said in the past that her glam is inspired by drag queens and often wears bright colored eyeshadow and dramatic lipstick. Roan's hairstylist worked with haircare brand amika to make her long, red locks fall perfectly along her back.
After a momentous year for the “Good Luck, Babe!” singer, fans have been anticipating her Grammy debut, nominations and performance. And, thanks to her comprehensive artistry, her red carpet look is also on many people’s minds tonight.
Roan has shared before that her fashion and beauty looks are an extension of her world as an artist. Recently, she also talked about prompting fans to join her, and said that she wished to have such a distinct aesthetic that her could be recognized on the street.
While she’s experimented with a number of looks, like her homage to Joan of Arc, her signature look is inspired by drag queens. She often sports white base makeup, juxtaposed by bold eyeshadow, blush and lipstick and equally colorful looks, from red carpet dresses by up-and-coming designers to her sparkly music video looks.
Roan is nominated for six categories tonight. Plus, she’s set to perform as well. That means we’re probably going to see her in a couple of different looks, so this is just the start! There may be outfit transformations, beauty makeovers and more to come for the singer tonight.
