Over the past two years, Lisa Manoban's schedule couldn't have been more packed. The BLACKPINK member founded her own company, released her first solo album, performed on her own at Coachella, the Victoria's Secret fashion show, became a F1 staple… The list could go on and on. Yet, somehow, she also found the time to film her very own documentary while all that was happening.

BLACKPINK's Lisa is officially joining the likes of Barbra Streisand, Oasis, and Elvis Presley, and getting a full documentary centered on herself from Sony Music Vision. Here's everything we know so far about the still-untitled project.

What will Lisa's documentary be about?

Lisa's upcoming documentary film will follow the star for an entire year, specifically during the period of time when the four BLACKPINK members took a break from the spotlight as a quartet to focus on their solo journeys. As such, we can expect to see moments leading up to the release of Lisa's first solo album under LLOUD, Alter Ego, as well as her solo Coachella debut and even acting beginnings on The White Lotus season 3.

In case you need a refresher, BLACKPINK announced they'd be centering on solo activities momentarily back in 2023, when their contracts with YG Entertainment expired. Though the members ventured into new territories for solo ventures, they resigned their group contracts with YG. They announced a new comeback and their 2025 world tour, called <Deadline>, in the summer of 2024.

According to Sony, the documentary “will give fans exclusive access to Lisa with an in-depth look at the artist’s groundbreaking career and creative vision outside of the world-renowned group, BLACKPINK.” Kim reportedly said the project will focus on Lisa's “offstage moments.”

“Following Lisa on this transformative and thrilling year has been a true honor and a cinematic gift,” Kim said in a statement. “There have been so many moments on her journey that I think will surprise people and give a glimpse into her world that no one’s ever seen before. I’m excited for viewers to watch the film and witness this extraordinary moment in her life.”

“This has been such an incredible year, and I’m so lucky to have the opportunity to capture these special moments on film and share the experience with my fans,” Lisa added. “Working with Sue Kim has been such a joy. We’ve been all around the world together, and I know this is just the beginning of many more exciting things to come.”
