No shoe is quite as divisive as the jelly shoe. Sure, they're a fun, cute throwback to decades long past, but they're also pure plastic and a free ticket to Sweaty Feet City if you're not careful. Since their creation, jelly shoes have been a "love 'em or hate 'em" accessory of the highest order, but as evidenced by some new pics, BLACKPINK's Lisa falls firmly in the first camp.
Lisa wore her jellies for a day out in Paris and documented them with the rest of her outfit on Instagram. She initially wore the shoes, a classic closed-toe fisherman-style jelly that could have walked right out of the '70s or the '90s, with a cropped black top, a watercolor silk slip skirt, an oversized white jacket and a baseball cap reading "Famous Actor."
The jellies accompanied the musician for a picnic near the Eiffel Tower, though she took them off to lounge barefoot on her adorable red and white blanket.
However, Lisa later swapped the jellies for a pair of butterscotch yellow pointy-toe loafers and a matching crossbody bag, so maybe she did deal with the infamous slippery, sweaty feet that are synonymous with jellies, or perhaps she found herself fraught with blisters and cuts from a fresh pair. Ah, jelly shoes. So cute, so fun, so hard to break in!

Lisa and her BLACKPINK bandmates have exceptionally enviable shoe wardrobes, and they're not afraid to bring back an old-school favorite, even when it's as controversial as the jelly. Lisa showed some love for Salomon sneakers, which are not everyone's taste but have been trending on TikTok for a while now, earlier this year, and she's also known to love a good pair of UGG boots for comfy days.
If any of the BLACKPINK members wear a particular shoe style, it's practically guaranteed to sell out, so it may just be time to give in to your jelly shoe cravings and give them a spin this summer. (Just pack some bandages in case of blisters!)
