In the 2000s, there were two reigning styles of jeans: flares/bellbottoms, often worn super low on the hips with distressed details, and bootcut, a more subdued, subtle flare style. Flares were definitely the jean to be spotted in back in the Y2K era, but bootcut jeans hung on strong, though they haven't cycled through the trend waves quite as often as the fuller style. That may all change, though, as BLACKPINK's Lisa just gave bootcut jeans her coveted stamp of approval.
Lisa wore the jeans to admire the priceless works of art at the Louvre Museum in Paris, sharing a photo dump from her museum visit. While a quick scroll through the pics reveals snaps of the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, the intro pic is half art, half 'fit check. In the image, the trendsetter wears a casual ensemble comprised of a long black coat, chunky black shoes, and a black Celine crossbody bag paired with medium-wash bootcut jeans for a laid-back feel.

In another snapshot from the Hall of Mirrors at Versaille, Lisa ditched the jeans in favor of another Y2K fave: khakis. She wore a loose-fitting, straight-leg pair of khaki pants with white platform sneakers, the same black coat and Celine bag, plus a beanie hat for cozy cuteness while seeing the sights.
Lisa isn't the only celeb revisiting the denim trend. In January 2022, Kendall Jenner wore a similar pair with black booties and a white shirt for a chic academic vibe. IMO, bootcut jeans are an essential addition to any well-rounded denim wardrobe — and it looks like Lisa agrees.
