Billie Eilish is officially an award-winning star as both a musician and an actor. The star picked up her first acting award for her performance in Prime Video's Swarm, and she made sure not to leave the stage before giving a shout-out to her costar, Dominique Fishback.
On February 18, Billie Eilish was awarded The TV Performance of the Year at the People's Choice Awards 2024 for her work on Donald Glover and Janine Nabers's Swarm, where the singer made her acting debut playing Eva, the leader of an all-female cult-like group.
During her People's Choice Awards acceptance speech, Eilish thanked Glover, Nabers, and Swarm producer Ibra Ake before dedicating her award to Dominique Fishback, who plays the titular role of Dre on the show. "[Swarm] is all about her," Eilish said about Fishback while accepting her award before adding that "she put her whole cooch into that show," eliciting a rowdy reaction from the crowd — and a little headshake from her mom Maggie Baird.
"[Fishback] really carried the hell out of [the show]," Eilish continued. "She taught me everything I know, [so] that whole experience I owe to her. She deserves this [award] more than I do. She is incredible, She is beautiful. She is talented. She should be cast in everything forever," she finished her speech, with major Lady Gaga vibes, before also shouting out her mom and "the people" since this was a fan-voted award.
Swarm, which features writing by Malia Obama, premiered last year on Prime Video. The show is described as a psychological horror series, and it follows Fishback as a "young woman whose obsession with a pop star takes a dark turn." Though the show received mixed reviews, Fishback has risen to critical acclaim for her role as Dre, which earned her a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at the Emmys 2023.
Aside from receiving her own award at the 2024 People's Choice Awards, Eilish also presented America Ferrera with The Movie Performance of the Year award for her role (and speech) in Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig's record-breaking Barbie.
Eilish and Ferrera will likely reunite at the Oscars 2024, where they are nominated for Best Original Song and Best Actress in a Supporting Role, respectively. While we wait for that reunion (and more potential speech shout-outs), you can check out the full list of Oscars 2024 nominations here.
