Emily in Paris and, more importantly, Emily in Paris outfits are back! While season 4 brings a new round of uncertainties for Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) and her love, work, and personal life, her fun and unique sense of fashion is something we can always count on with every new episode.
Season 3 turned things up a notch, giving us plenty of looks to keep us entertained (even if the plot didn’t). From coveted designer pieces to her signature camera-shaped phone case, Emily mixed colors, fun patterns, and whimsical silhouettes to add even more drama to her life (as if she needed it).
With the anticipation building for season 4 after almost two years, we were itching to see what Emily would be wearing. Given the circumstances, you can’t help but wonder how one would dress for occasions that Emily finds herself in every season. Luckily, costume designer Marylin Fitoussi has it all figured it out.
“Every season is a challenge. I'm always on the lookout for new ideas, new designers, new combinations, new color combos, new silhouettes, etc. I don’t want to repeat myself and bore the audience. I need to take risks. I'm always starting to look at every runway all around the world, trying to catch what are the current trends and avoid them,” Fitoussi told Teen Vogue. Her and her team shop in Parisian boutiques, select runway pieces, contact PR and showrooms, and scour luxury secondhand websites to find Emily's unique pieces.
Thanks to Fitoussi and her team we get to enjoy fashion that matches Emily's unexpected nature and truly be immersed in her world. Below, we take a look at some of the best Emily in Paris outfits from season 4 part 1 and 2 in chronological order and grade them based on wearability, affordability, and styling.
1. Emily's First Look
Even though last season ended on a sour note for Emily and her love triangle, this season started on a strong note sartorially. Emily looked très chic in green jacquard floral shorts and a bustier set from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini layered with a pink Jacquemus cardigan. It seems like she's become a bit more financially responsible because these items are all currently on sale for about $200 or less.
Emily's penchant for accessories also shined here. The perfectly coordinated Kate Spade gingham tote gave the look perfect summer vibes for only $279 when on sale. And as if the outfit itself wasn't cute enough, the marketing pro also proved she's trend-savvy with the perfect shoe choice. She wore a pair of mesh Mary Jane pumps, putting her own twist on the hottest shoe of the season. Her Nodaleto shoes also happen to be on sale for just $350, so it seems like Emily is just as talented at finding sales as she is finding drama to be a part of. (And we love her for both.)

2. Emily's Monochrome Moment
Who said wardrobe essentials had to be in basic colors? Not Emily Cooper! She wore a trusty suede shirt from Possery in a bright yellow hue. To up the ante, she layered it under a matching yellow blouse paired with a yellow corduroy skirt. Even her bag was yellow, too.
We love a monochrome moment, and they happen to be very trendy these days. It does seem as though wasn't as affordable as the last because the top layer alone retails for over 700€, but maybe she just saved up a lot of money so she could invest in really good pieces.

3. Emily's Layered Feathered 'Fit
Emily was really working the layers this season. She made this fun textured dress office-appropriate by pairing it with a crisp white button-down shirt and a plaid tie. This is a styling hack we might just have to add to our playbook.

4. Emily's Masquerade Look
This look is kind of like if the Hamburglar had a really fashionable cousin. The bodysuit has a super flattering fit, accentuated by the belting and half skirt. The Mary Jane strap going over the body suit is such a great detail, and the wide-brim hat just commands attention. Most of all, this ‘fit proves Emily’s commitment to the bit, which feels very on-brand for her.
Wearability: Fine for the occasion

5. Emily's Clueless-esque Look
Leave it to Emily to give this iconic look a 2024 update. Similar to Cher's yellow plaid tweed blazer and skirt in Clueless, Emily donned a yellow and black houndstooth dress over a white ruffled blouse fastened by a yellow bow tie with a black buckle. While the accessories were minimal, she used her hairpinning to adorn the look. It's a perfect school uniform-inspired look. The only caveat is that these pieces are too hard to find! Tell us your secrets, Emily! We want to look cute too!

6. Emily's Coordinated Set
Although Emily loves to mix patterns, this time, she went for a matching top and skirt set, and we can't help but say we love this new look for her. She looked elegant in a Missoni button-up top and skirt. They do retail for a pretty high price, so unless Emily is buying secondhand (which actually might be possible since we do go to Vestaire Collective this season), we have to assume that she's just in a higher tax bracket. Regardless, this look showed a more mature side to Emily, especially when paired with her delicate jewelry and updo. Now, let's just hope it leads to some more mature life choices, too.

7. Emily's Trendy Hair Accessory
We're so happy to see that the headband trend made it to Emily's world. While we love her signature bangs, it was this simple, affordable headpiece, which can be picked up at any drugstore, that made her look feel very timely and elevated her simple striped shirt from wardrobe staple to trendy top. Once again, Emily proves the power of accessories.

8. Emily's Taylor Swift Matching Moment
TBH, all we could think about during this scene was this bag! The iconic Vivienne Westwood heart bag is well-adored by celebrities and fictional characters alike. Just last month, Taylor Swift was spotted carrying one, and now, Emily has given it her stamp of approval, too. She wore the multicolor plaid option which is on sale for $403. Paired with her matching plaid jacket with fun fluffy trimming, this look was a very Emily-coded take on grunge.

9. Emily's Big Teddy Coat and Matching Purse
Yes. Absolutely yes. There's nothing better than a big, oversized teddy coat. It looks classic, cozy, and cute, but most importantly, it's warm and soft to the touch. We never could imagine it getting any better than that, but then Emily went ahead and found a matching purse. Thanks to the classic nature of these pieces, it seems feasible that Emily could have easily snatched them up at a nice vintage store. However, if she's buying these designer items brand new, they could be pretty expensive. Emily tends to show off her resourcefulness, so we'll assume it's the former.

10. Emily's Bold Color Combo
If there's anyone who could make these colors and prints work in unison, it's Emily. The bold red lip certainly helps. This look screams fall fashion and got us even more excited for sipping on lattes and stepping on crunchy leaves. “Thank you, Emily,” we all say unison. Similar to the last look, the price really depends on how she's shopping, but what's a better way to end a fall day than doing some thrifting?

11. Emily's Checkered Trench and Hat
With recent trends, most matching sets include a top and pants. Leave it to Emily to rethink that. Her matching set includes a coat and hat, and we have to say we love her interpretation. And why leave it at monochrome when you can opt for a fun pattern like this pink and brown checkered print? Both from Lisou, the coat retails for $665 and the hat retails for $87. Unless Emily saved up for it for a long time, that's not exactly ideal when you're handling the cost of living in Paris. It does seem like she's saving on food at least thanks to her chef neighbor.

12. Emily in Rome
Just like Emily stereotypically loves to wear her berets in France, she opted to wear a silk scarf in Italy. We can't blame her. The scarf's blue stripes mix with the polka dots of her off-the-shoulder sweetheart top for a look that's full of fun and dimension. However, Emily Cooper is, at the end of the day, an American in France, so it's only right that she added a red butterfly bag to the blue and white look and repped her home and host countries' colors. The Peter & James bag does retail for a little over $3,500, which is significant, but you can wear the bag in two ways since it converts to both a backpack and shoulder purse, so using fashion math, it's $1,750. And we trust Emily is a believer of fashion math.

13. Emily's Designer Dressing
We see Emily decided to splurge on this one. Understandable. A raffia bag and a pair of flats are essentials in every fashionista's wardrobe, so it's worth investing in them. Emily's choice of Saint Laurent purse even includes a cover flap and long strap, which are rare finds in this style and make us feel a little better about the $1,790 price tag. She also chose a black patent point toe shoe from Gianvito Rossi for $895. The black midi skirt and button-up top are wardrobe essentials, and pairing it with her trusty silk scarf and plaid jacket elevated the look.
