Is Bella Hadid thinking about abandoning her modeling career in favor of starring in Swan Lake? If her latest street style look is to be believed, maybe!
The model, who has been working the runways during various Fashion Weeks, was snapped out and about in Paris on October 5 wearing a pair of what appears to be pink ballerina pointe shoes with her outfit. Yes — not ballet flats, not the soft kid leather ballet shoes you maybe wore as a kid, but pointe-style shoes with the hard, squared-off toe, commonly worn by ballerinas when they go "en pointe" after many years of lessons.
Upon further inspection, Bella's shoes could potentially be the popular Miu Miu Logo Band Ballet Flats, which look similar to the classic pointe shoe but are, you know, made to walk in and not flutter across the stage in. (Pointe shoes feature a structured, rigid toe box made of burlap and cardboard, making them difficult to walk normally in… So if Bella was wearing those, prayers for her arch!)
However, Bella's shoes are missing the signature toe ribbon, so maybe she did some DIY design work and cut it off. The mystery remains unsolved but they are certainly not your classic fashion ballet flat that dominated trends in the 2010s — though those might be an option if you are trying to recreate the look without resorting to Miu Miu or actual ballet flats.
Bella Hadid styled the ballet shoes with a low-key grey sweatsuit, matching grey headband, sunglasses, and her beloved Chanel messenger bag, looking very much like a ballerina en route to or from the barre.
This isn't the first time the model has channeled a prima ballerina with her outfits and experimented with the balletcore trend, one of the biggest fashion moments of 2022. In August, Bella headed out for lunch in a balletcore look including a mod-inspired vintage Chanel striped dress and a pair of classic white legwarmers worn over light blue low heels, with her hair tied back in a ballet-worthy bun. Legwarmers? Check. Ballet shoes? Check. If Bella Bella is soon spotted in a pink tulle tutu, we won't be surprised at all.
