After literal years of speculation and lots of begging from fans, Addison Rae's “lost” album is officially out in the world.
It's been several years since Addison Rae, who first came to fame via TikTok, released new music, but it seems like there's more where this came from. Rae dropped a five-song EP of music from her “vault” — so to speak — including the Lady Gaga-penned “Nothing On (But the Radio)," “2 die 4” with Charli XCX, and her 2021 debut single, “Obsessed.”
Rae first teased the mini-album on Instagram, saying she had “dug up a few of the leaks from the lost album.” The tracks disappeared from YouTube, leading fans to believe that she was finally releasing some of her pre-recorded material — including the tracks that gained cult status after being leaked online when the project was scrapped.
However, it seems like even more music is on the horizon for Rae. “Before I can move on to my next chapter in music, here’s a little sign off to my previous one,” she wrote on Instagram on the EP's release day on August 18. “A few of you may have heard these songs after they were unfortunately leaked last year.. but if you loved them, now you can listen to them on all streaming platforms!!! Ahhh!! If you haven’t heard them, I hope you take a listen and they make you dance!!”
A new era is upon us, but Rae took a moment to acknowledge the first chapter of her music career before introducing her next one. “Thank you to everyone who has been so excited about these and has supported me so much!! And thank you to all of the writers/producers/engineers/everyone who were a part of creating and finishing this little time capsule & helping to get it out in the world (officially). Time to turn the page now. Stay tuned. It’ll be worth the wait.” Has pop music been saved?
