It's hard to believe this year marks the 11th anniversary of Mean Girls, but even more than a decade later, we're totally in love with the true-to-life high school flick. However, we can't help but wonder: Why didn't Gretchen Weiners' beloved 'fetch' happen exactly? Thankfully, we have Jonathan Bennett (also known as Aaron Samuels) to explain it all.
Speaking to The Huffington Post, Jonathan revealed: "'Fetch' hasn't happened because people still try to make it happen. If people are still gonna try to make it happen, it's not gonna happen." Touche, Aaron.
"I think that's a good PSA to do," he added. "Stop trying to make fetch happen! It hasn't happened because you're trying to make it happen." Well, there you have it then. And speaking of happening or not happening, what about the Mean Girls reunion rumors we've been hearing so much about?
"To clear the record, it's not that I don't want to have a Mean Girls reunion," he explained. "I'm just tired about everyone asking about it. Because if I knew, you would know. It's just I don't know when, so that's what I always say. Mean Girls reunions are like 'fetch.'"
Stop trying to make it happen, everyone! Good things happen when we least expect it.
