And as season three slowly nears its (potentially) fatal ending (for one, or multiple, characters), we're thinking about the ways in which the fashion also helps tell the story. In the world of White Lotus, the clothes aren’t just an accessory — they’re integral pieces to the puzzle, if you look closely. Each outfit reflects not only a character's personality — think the chaos of Portia in season two, that had us wondering if her galaxy leggings were going to be the reason she disappeared into thin air with that cute but scary British boy.
With a slew of fun new cast members this season, like Aimee Lou Wood and BLACKPINK's Lisa, we're trying to pinpoint just who might be in trouble this go around. For the third season, we’re not just tuning in for the drama, but we're analyzing the subtle sartorial cues that might hint at who will make it out of the luxurious, yet perilous, confines of the White Lotus hotel alive — and who won't.

1/21The Ratliff kids from day one served as a slightly off-kilter familial case study. From the moment Patrick Schwarzenegger appeared on my screen, I was fearing for my life, and it seems his younger siblings were doing the same. With the potential nods to the phrase “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil,” viewers are already wondering if these kids will be the ones to witness the disastrous ending of one of the hotel members or if one of them will get the axe. Between their collared, preppy looks and Piper Ratliff's white dress, something spooky is happening here.

Fabio Lovino/HBO2/21Aimee Lou Wood's character Chelsea is lonely and very trusting. If she needed to run away from danger in this specific red bikini and ultra-tinted sunglasses, I don't think she'd get very far.

Fabio Lovino/HBO3/21Michelle Monaghan's character Jaclyn is a slightly more visible and younger version of Tanya in my eyes. So, her life expectancy makes me very nervous. She's already wearing a very flowy look, similar to Jennifer Coolidge's character, so there is some synergy on that front. She might not make it to the end of her girls trip, and I would be surprised if the trio left as a duo.

Fabio Lovino/HBO4/21Southern Charm's Thomas Ravenel — I mean Jason Isaacs' Timothy Ratliff — is very, very high on the list of potential victims. Between his light brown loafers, blue collared shirt (not to be mistaken with his white collar career), and light wash pants, he has the sartorial makings of a scorned businessman who disappears while on vacation with his family.

Fabio Lovino/HBO5/21Contrary to the masses, I think this is the most perfect trio to exist. Trios cannot form without toxicity gelling them together and these three women have that down pact. Now, while their impeccable fashion has me hoping they survive, it is also very possible their chic clothes will be the reason they cannot run away fast enough.

Fabio Lovino/HBO6/21Every episode, I am worried Walton Goggins's character Rick Hatchett is going to sweat himself out of every linen button down shirt he owns. While this one is absolutely chic, if any random red liquid decided to make its way onto it, I do think it would stain! So not very ideal.

7/21Parker Posey is playing the heck out of her role as the Ratliff matriarch. While she is often sitting somehwere sleepy and slightly delirious, I do believe Victoria Ratliff and her fuchsia kaftan will be alright.

Fabio Lovino/HBO9/21Belinda Lindsey (Natasha Rothwell) is in many ways the only good returning character we'll see this season (we're looking at you “Gary.”) Belinda knows how to serve looks with her floral print dress and sunglasses, but she's also suspicious of everything! So when the time comes we know those sunglasses will be left on the ground as she sprints to safety.

Stefano Delia/HBO16/21Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) is a former model and fashion queen. Her constant use of sheer dresses is the reason why she's not top of the victim list, but potentially on our suspect list! Only a woman who knows she's safe can dilly dally around this hotel in the least run-able outfits to exist.

Fabio Lovino/HBO17/21Mook's (Lalisa Manobal) work uniform is rather dapper in comparison to some of the other staffers. Getting to pair shorts with her button down adds a fun vibe to her uniform and also allows her to move more freely than if she were in constricting pants. For that reason, she will be safe.

His work uniform has pants, and as stated before (by my newly enforced rules), he will very easily trip and fall while running away. He's already proven to not be very good at the whole “safeguard the hotel” security thing.

Fabio Lovino/HBO20/21Chelsea is the kind of character that walks into the chaos unknowingly. This alien t-shirt, while fun, feels like a spur of the moment grab while potentially on the way to see her reckless boyfriend. We've all been there, but that doesn't make your fashion choices okay.

Fabio Lovino/HBO21/21Piper Ratliff (Sarah Catherine Hook) is in her own world. This mid-length dress highlights just that. Our girl is on a mission, and she's trying to confuse us by wearing very leisurely, vacation dresses that fit the occasion, but are very far from where she is at mentally. She has secrets and they're hidden in the fabrics of her gorgeous beach dresses!
