What Your Favorite Holiday Movie Says About You
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and...all the lines in Miracle on 34th Street. Every year you brace yourself for the jolly jeering from family and friends as you hide out in your room with your favorite festive flicks, but nothing can crush your holiday spirit. Although you can appreciate every holiday movie for what it brings to the table, it’s no secret that you’ve been known to play favorites. While all of us who treasure holiday movies might be a little overly sentimental, you definitely have a favorite flick that reveals something unique about you.

Elf
Whether it’s December 25th or June 25th, your cheerful disposition knows no bounds. Your best friend at school or work has firmly asked you to “calm down” when talking about Christmas (on more than one occasion), and it’s no secret that your desk is stocked to the brim with holiday candy. You can’t help it if people don’t understand, you just honest-to-goodness love Christmas! However, your passion might be heightened by the peppermint white mocha that contained five extra pumps of syrup and half and half in place of skim milk you ingested 30 minutes ago, but who cares?!

A Christmas Story
As a kid you pined for one specific toy to be placed under the Christmas tree, so you can totes relate to Ralphie’s quest for a Red Ryder BB Gun. However, your parents were no-nonsense folks that didn’t believe in excessive amounts of gift-giving around the holidays. You remember receiving practical items like nail clippers and sensible walking shoes, which did come in handy, but weren’t exactly fun. At least you never shot your eye out, but you wish you had at least been given the chance for Pete’s sake!

Home Alone
Maybe you’re the oldest child in your family, or your parents trusted you for your keen sense of independence at an early age, ya filthy animal. Either way, you’re no stranger to taking care of yourself. Growing up you would imitate Macaulay Culkin’s signature shocked expression and silently wish that your parents would leave you home alone during the holidays so that you’d have a better chance of catching Santa in his tracks. You’re all grown up now, but you still believe you could outsmart any burglars — luckily, this faith has never been put to the test.

It's A Wonderful Life
You’re a softie who appreciates the classics. Although you’ve been known to take your life for granted, you truly treasure the people and things in your life that have made you who you are. Watching It’s a Wonderful Life each year allows you to be nostalgic, which is something you definitely want to embrace more often. In fact, now that you think about it, don’t you need to call your mom and tell her you love her?

A Charlie Brown Christmas
Every year you try to make Christmas perfect for your friends and family but you always fall short. There was the year you got your crush those shoes that were the wrong size, and the following year you bought your dad chocolate truffles with coconut flakes in them (he’s allergic). Your intentions are pure but your execution is severely lacking. Sigh. Maybe you’ll figure it out next year.

Love Actually
You're a hopeless romantic. It's tough for you to imagine being lonely around the holidays because you always have more suitors than you know what to do with. However, it is a total bummer that your bestie is out of town for Christmas. She always fields your relationship questions and helps guide you to the perfect romantic solution. This year you’ll just have to figure it out yourself, and buy 18 inexpensive yet thoughtful Christmas presents for all your current Tinder crushes in the meantime.

The Nightmare Before Christmas
You shudder to think about all the pink sweaters your parents have bought you for Christmases past. Those puppies were all donated to Goodwill A.S.A.P. Despite the fact that you religiously wear black year-round, you do have a soft spot for The Nightmare Before Christmas. The combination of music, Tim Burton creepiness, and stop motion animation stands out in your mind after all these years — and you have the Disneyland attendance record to prove it (the best time of year to go is when the Haunted Mansion is inhabited by Jack Skellington, duh).

How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Children singing sounds like nails on a chalkboard to you, and the only presents you like are the ones you receive (sort of). Christmas is overly drawn out in your opinion, and you can’t believe what a huge corporate hoopla is put on surrounding the holidays. If it were up to you, you’d retreat quietly to a cabin somewhere remote and wait out the holidays by feasting on canned tuna and catching up on your reading. Unfortunately, your family has other plans — those Grinches.
You will never regret choosing kindness. Be nicer to people, including yourself. What’s your go-to karaoke song?
