The Twins Behind Hairodynamic and TeenMakeupTips Share Their Best Blogging Advice
Monica, of Hairodynamic, and Shelby, of TeenMakeupTips, , obviously have their own channels, but they do most everything else together. Between school, diving practice, and gymnastics classes, the girls are pretty much a package deal, even admitting that their videos are better when they help one another.
Both beauty-lovers are sharing how they started their YouTube careers, giving you double the advice on beginning a channel of your own. Click through to steal their secrets!

Monica: I started mine in 2009 after coming across a ton of hair tutorials. I decided to make my own, but it only got 20 views in the first month, so I gave up. But a few months later, I saw that it got 1,000 views in one day, which gave me hope and motivation to keep creating videos!
Shelby: I started my channel a few months after Monica, because I thought it looked fun, so I decided to make my own!

M: St. Tropez Self Tanning Moisturizer, Garnier Fructis BB Cream, Benefit Benetint, CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara, Dior Lip Glow, and Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer.
S: Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, MAC Half Lash Curler, CoverGirl LashBlast Waterproof Mascara, Watt’s Up! by Benefit, and Garnier Fructis BB Cream.
What’s your favorite hairstyle to create?
M: My absolute favorite is beachy waves! They’re so easy and look effortlessly great on everyone.
S: I like to create hairstyles with soft waves and braids. I’m trying to grow my hair out so I can do even more.

M: The most challenging tutorial to film was my DIY Galaxy Print Toms because it was very time consuming.
S: I once shot a video of an entire week of different makeup looks for back-to-school. I had to film on five different days and create looks that were subtle and school-appropriate yet still unique.
Do you have advice for a reader who wants to start a channel?
M: Create original content and the views will come easily!
S: Focus on the quality of your videos rather than the quantity of your viewers. If you make great videos, people will subscribe!

M: Evelinicutza, because her videos never fail to have incredible content and editing! And StyleHaul because they keep up with the latest runway trends and television series, which you don’t see from a lot of other beauty vloggers.
S: Macbarbie07 has very creative and entertaining videos. StyleHaul is as favorite of mine because they have a wide variety of videos that are always well-produced and fun to watch. I also really like Caitbarker and Shannonbarkerr. I recently found their videos and they have great DIYs!

M: Although we look similar, there are some subtle differences in our styles of editing and how we present ourselves on camera.
S: We try not to ever do the same video unless it's a specific tag video.
In what ways are your channels similar?
M: We make a lot of the same _types_of videos: getting ready, DIY, hauls, and outfits. In our vlogs we are literally always together, whether we're at school, at diving practice, or doing gymnastics. We just portray our lives through different perspectives.
S: We have been trying to do more videos together recently!
Do you guys ever help each other with your videos?
M: Yes! We help each other with camera angles and shots.
S: It's always more fun that way! It's more difficult to find a time that works for both of us, but usually the video turns out a lot better if we help each other.
