Sky Ferreira Rocks Six Wild Hair Transformations, Looks Impossibly Chic

- 1/7
Sky Ferreira has accomplished a lot in the 23 years she's been alive. She's toured with Miley, been the face of Redken, had more (stunning!) hair transformations than any girl we know, and developed a personal style that's equal parts badass and incredibly chic. So, for July 8th, AKA Sky's bday, we decided to look back at her rad photo shoot from our May 2014 issue. In this story, Sky proved she can not only pull off any hair color, but also any texture, accessory, makeup, and outfit. The girl is on top of her game. We can't wait to see what her 23rd year on this planet will bring. She recently announced that she's the face of Jimmy Choo's new sultry fragrance, Illicit, and we're anxiously awaiting her second album and her upcoming acting gigs. And, as if we can even keep up with her hair game (she's currently a rich chocolate-y brunette), she took to Instagram last night posting a picture of a very blonde Angelina Jolie in "Girl Interrupted" with a shoutout to her colorist, Aura Friedman, saying "The wait is over." Is Sky's bday present a fresh platinum dye job? Fingers crossed! Oh, and, we'd sing "Happy Birthday," but we're going to go ahead and leave the singing to Sky and look at gorgeous pix of her instead.

Platinum Party
"Bleaching is addictive. I love the way blonde hair makes me feel," Sky Ferreira says. Her damage control? "I use a lot of Redken deep-conditioning treatments. That's my real secret." Try Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine as a moisturizing leave-in.

Flight Risk
"Neutral hair colors don't work for me—the extreme ones do," Sky says. "It has to be dark, bright red, or white. Anything in between gets lost or mousy." Keep your color rich with Redken Color Extend Magnetics Deep Attraction Mask.

Boy Meets Girl
"I don't have a comfort zone musically, which is good," Sky says. "But my hair was my security blanket my entire life. When I cut most of it off for the first time [at age 20], I was like, 'I guess I'm exposed now.' It was getting rid of everything and learning how to not rely on my hair."
