MTV VMAs 2020 Red Carpet: All the Fashion, Outfits & Looks

The MTV Video Music Awards 2020 may have looked a little different this year, what with social distancing protocols and more outdoor, out-of-the-box performances than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the stars made it work with their MTV VMAs 2020 red carpet looks regardless. The show, which took place in New York City, was hosted by fashion icon Keke Palmer, who rocked a series of award-winning ensembles, and featured standout looks from stars like Joey King, who served romantic florals in a Versace minidress; Sofia Carson, who went for red carpet glam in a red gown with a ruffled waist detail; and nominated artist Doja Cat, who hit the carpet in a backless red sequined dress with coordinating makeup and manicure. Lady Gaga took us to Chromatica in her space age look, while The Weeknd threw it back to the '80s in a retro red jacket. Miley Cyrus made our jaws drop in her shimmering, sheer strapless gown.

Joey King went for a romantic mod look with her long-sleeved Versace floral minidress in shades of rich red, pastel green, and yellow. The [*The Kissing Booth*](http://teenvogue.com/tag/kissing-booth) star accessorized with red pointy-toe pumps, thick chain necklaces, and a barrette, and kept her beauty look simple with long, shiny straight hair and subtle, classic makeup.

Sofia Carson brought the glamour in a scarlet red gown with a fairytale-worthy chiffon skirt and dramatic ruffled waist detail. The gown featured a one-shoulder top and slight train, totally befitting Sofia’s The Descendants character Evie. Sofia kept her hair slicked back and wore bold diamond earrings and a matching ring.

Jaden, per usual, looked incredibly stylish and cool in a pair of light wash jeans, a graphic pastel jacket and matching sneakers, and a pair of pink sunglasses.
