Learn How To Recreate Lea Michele's 2012 Teen Choice Awards Hairstyle

Lea Michele let her hair down—literally—for the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, wearing her brunette tresses in beachy waves around her shoulders. The casual 'do complemented her strapless silver Atelier Versace dress and glowing complexion. "I wanted Lea to look like a classic, sun-kissed California girl," says Dove Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend. "I kept her hair pretty natural with loads of texture."

"I started by applying a large amount of StyleCare Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse to Lea's damp hair, and dried her hair with my hands and with a diffuser attachment. After the hair was dry, I reapplied a large dollop of the Mousse and scrunched it in again, creating really great texture. Next, I took four-inch sections of hair and sprayed them with Dove StyleCare Thermal Replenishment Spray. Then, I loosely wrapped the hair around a curling iron for a few seconds to give the hair a gentle wave. I sprayed Oribe Après Beach Spray all over while scrunching the hair with my hands to create more texture. To keep her hair in place without weighing it down, I finished with Dove StyleCare Strength & Shine Flexible Hold Hairspray all over."
