Denim Ad Campaigns Through the Years
From the classic Levi's "501" which came out of the migration to the American West in 1873 to 7 For All Mankind's A Pocket jean at the height of premium denim in the early aughts, American culture is rooted in denim. A virtually universal material found coast-to-coast, denim continues to be a perennial staple in American fashion. How fitting it is, then, that Kaia Gerber dons a full denim-on-denim look on the cover of our Volume 3 Icons Issue. Kaia's looks throughout her spread are not a far cry from her mother's Pepsi campaign. In the spirit of the Icons Issue, let's go back in history to see where it all began.
1/11Calvin Klein Jeans, 1980.

Talk about a comeback kid. With its 2017 relaunch, Madonna's personal favorite brand is now back in stores near you. Run, don't walk.

Naomi, Christy, Claudia, oh my! The supermodels in this 1992 campaign are seriously making us reconsider the Canadian Tuxedo... in a good way.

An oldie but a goodie, Jordache is the only look to try.

The apple really doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to Cindy Crawford and her model offspring Kaia Gerber. Cindy's high-waisted denim and white tank look is a year round staple in our closets.
